A metal-free system for regioselective dehydrogenative cross-couplings between indolizines and oxoaldehydes catalyzed by visible light under mild conditions has been described. As an atom economical eco-friendly protocol, the reaction proceeds in good yields using inexpensive, readily available visible-light sources environmentally friendly oxidant oxygen. Various valuable 1,2-dicarbonyl derivatives attached to indolizine core were easily accessed direct dicarbonylation of sp2 C–H bond.

The enhanced optical transmission (EOT) and the fluorescence emission (EFE) of metallic nanohole arrays have been widely studied. Here, dielectric thickness detection sensor based on these two aspects has investigated by changing SiO2 layer deposited metal surface. We demonstrated that Wood anomaly dip in EOT is better for than SPP peak. Moreover, EFE, measuring change intensity with layer, we obtained higher thickness-detection sensitivity. These results indicate potential application biosensors.
