Abnormal body composition is an important modifiable risk factor in lung transplantation. Therefore, precise quantification of different components, including muscle and fat, may play role optimizing outcomes transplant patients. The purpose the study was to investigate prognostic significance subcutaneous fat mass measured on chest CT with regard transplantation survival other post-transplant outcomes. The population included 45 consecutive adult recipients (mean age 47.9 ± 12.1 years; 31...

Heterogeneous clinical manifestations and progression of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) affect patient health risk assessment, stratification, management. Pulmonary function tests are used to diagnose classify the severity COPD, but they cannot fully represent type or range pathophysiologic abnormalities disease. To evaluate whether deep radiomics from chest computed tomography (CT) images can predict mortality in patients with we designed a convolutional neural network (CNN)...

To compare a new integral-based half-band method (IBHB) and conventional full-width half-maximum (FWHM) in measuring peripheral airway dimensions at phantoms thin-section computed tomography of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).The IBHB was validated compared using 50 patients with COPD. Airway parameters (wall area percentage [WA%], mean lumen radius, wall thickness) were measured fourth to sixth generations the right apical bronchus. Matched results from 2 methods correlated...

Primary mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma arising in the common bile duct (CBD) is extremely rare. In our case of MALT lymphoma, CT and MRI showed long, segmental, irregular wall thickening CBD minimal dilatation upstream duct. A preoperative diagnosis cholangiocarcinoma was made, but histologic evaluation confirmed CBD. We herein present a rare with findings.
