The plant working group of the Consortium for Barcode Life recommended two-locus combination rbcL+matK as barcode, yet was shown to successfully discriminate among 907 samples from 550 species at level with a probability 72%. admits that barcode is far perfect due low identification rate, and search not over. Here, we compared seven candidate DNA barcodes (psbA-trnH, matK, rbcL, rpoC1, ycf5, ITS2, ITS) medicinal species. Our ranking criteria included PCR amplification efficiency, differential...

Over the past decade, large-scale spread of influenza viruses has posed an increasing burden on public health. The effective screening agents requires a fast, precise, on-site and easy-to-operate method. Unfortunately, current methods face challenges in speed accuracy, especially complex settings. Here, this work develops nucleoprotein antibody-modified graphene field-effect transistor (NPAb-GFET) for rapid highly precise detection A viruses. functionalized monoclonal antibodies capture...

Amomum villosum Lour., produced from Yangchun, Guangdong Province, China, is a Daodi medicinal material of Amomi Fructus in traditional Chinese medicine. This herb germplasm should be accurately identified and collected to ensure its quality safety medication. In the present study, single nucleotide polymorphism typing method was evaluated on basis DNA barcoding markers identify Fructus. Genomic extracted leaves 29 landraces representing three species (A. Ilex asprella, which contains abundant α-amyrin type triterpenoid saponins, is an anti-influenza herbal drug widely used in south China. In this work, we first analysed the transcriptome of I. asprella root using RNA-Seq, provided a dataset for functional gene mining. mRNA was isolated from total RNA and reverse-transcribed into cDNA. Then, cDNA library sequenced Illumina HiSeq™ 2000, generated 55,028,452 clean reads. De novo assembly these reads 51,865 unigenes, 39,269 unigenes were...

Chrysanthemum indicum L., an important ancestral species of the flowering plant chrysanthemum, can be used as medicine and for functional food development. Due to lack hereditary information this difficulty germplasm identification, we herein provide new genetic insight from perspective intraspecific transcriptome comparison present single sequence repeat (SSR) molecular marker recognition technology.Through study a diploid (DIWNT) tetraploid (DIWT), following outcome were obtained. In this study, we tested the applicability of core DNA barcode matK for identifying species within Fabaceae family. Based on an evaluation genetic variation, barcoding gaps, and discrimination power, is a useful species. Of 1355 plant samples collected from 1079 belonging to 409 diverse genera, precisely identified approximately 80 % 96 them at genus levels, respectively. Therefore, our research indicates that region valuable marker Fabaceae.

Fabaceae is a huge family that contains large number of medicinal plants, many which are commonly used in Chinese traditional medicine. However, taxonomy has not been able to meet the complicated demands species discrimination within Fabaceae. Thus, we employed famous DNA barcode, psbA-trnH region, discriminate Here, regions derived from 152 samples were amplified. These represented 104 60 genera, including 25 authentic listed pharmacopoeia and common adulterant species. The results indicate...
