Background Internal transcribed spacer of nuclear ribosomal DNA (nrDNA) is already one the most popular phylogenetic and barcoding markers. However, existence its multiple copies has complicated such usage a detailed characterization intra-genomic variations critical to address concerns. Methodology/Principal Findings In this study, we used sequence-tagged pyrosequencing genome-wide analyses characterize internal 2 (ITS2) regions from 178 plant species. We discovered that mutation ITS2...

Background Lonicera japonica Thunb. is a plant used in traditional Chinese medicine known for its anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative, anti-carcinogenic, and antiviral pharmacological properties. The major active secondary metabolites of this are chlorogenic acid (CGA) luteoloside. While the biosynthetic pathways these relatively well known, genetic information available species, especially ingredients, limited. Methodology/Principal Findings We obtained one million reads (average length 400...

This study sought to determine the effects of rosemary leaf powder (RP) on laying performance, egg quality, serum indices, gut barrier function, and cecal microbiota metabolites late-phase hens. A total 84 "Jing Tint 6" hens at 65-week old were randomly divided into 2 groups fed either a basal diet (CON) or supplemented with 0.3% RP. Our revealed that RP improved Haugh unit decreased yolk n-6/n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) ratio hens, increased superoxide dismutase (SOD), jejunal...

DNA barcoding is a novel molecular identification method that aids in identifying traditional Chinese materia medica using techniques. However, further study needed to assess the stability and accuracy of barcoding. Flos Lonicerae Japonicae, typical medicinal flower, widely used China, Korea, other Southeast Asian countries. Japonicae its closely related species have been misused traded at varying for wide range prices. Therefore, must be accurately identified. In this study, ITS2 psbA-trnH...

In this study, we tested the applicability of core DNA barcode matK for identifying species within Fabaceae family. Based on an evaluation genetic variation, barcoding gaps, and discrimination power, is a useful species. Of 1355 plant samples collected from 1079 belonging to 409 diverse genera, precisely identified approximately 80 % 96 them at genus levels, respectively. Therefore, our research indicates that region valuable marker Fabaceae.

Gynostemma pentaphyllum (Thunb.) Makino is an important producer of dammarene-type triterpenoid saponins. These saponins (gypenosides) exhibit diverse pharmacological benefits such as anticancer, antidiabetic, and immunomodulatory effects, have major potential in the pharmaceutical health care industries. Here, we employed single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) to profile transcriptomes more than 50,000 cells derived from G. shoot apexes leaves. Following cell clustering annotation,...
