Abstract Combined analyses of deep tow magnetic anomalies and International Ocean Discovery Program Expedition 349 cores show that initial seafloor spreading started around 33 Ma in the northeastern South China Sea (SCS), but varied slightly by 1–2 Myr along northern continent‐ocean boundary (COB). A southward ridge jump ∼20 km occurred 23.6 East Subbasin; this timing also was coeval to onset Southwest Subbasin, which propagated for about 400 southwestward from ∼23.6 ∼21.5 Ma. The terminal...
To establish the relationships between rock magnetism of eclogites and corresponding retrograded metamorphic processes, this study integrated both petrology 171 eclogite samples with different degree metamorphism at depth range 100–2050 m main hole Chinese Continental Scientific Drilling (CCSD) Project, located in Sulu ultrahigh pressure (UHP) belt, eastern China. Results show that average density is a suitable indicator for metamorphism. Opaque minerals variable are mainly magnetite,...
Abstract Macrostructures preserved in deformed rocks are essential for the understanding of their evolution, especially when deformation is weak and hard to discriminate regional scale or purely through geophysical data. In order resolve inconsistency between NS trending fracture zones NE oriented spreading fabrics South China Sea during latest stage, we analyzed macrostructures identifiable from basalt consolidated sediment samples Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP) Sites U1431 U1433....
Magnetic properties of 14 serpentinized garnet peridotites from the interval 603.20–683.53 m Chinese Continental Scientific Drilling (CCSD) hole in Sulu ultrahigh pressure (UHP) metamorphic belt, eastern China, were investigated and compared with those ultramafic rocks other tectonic settings, to relate them UHP (post‐)metamorphic evolution. Serpentinized are characterized by high susceptibility ( χ ), natural remanent magnetization (NRM), Q (Köenigsberger ratio = (NRM/ × H), where H is...
The structure of the operation region has been studied in HT-7 superconducting tokamak, and progress on extension ohmic discharge is reported. A density corresponding to 1.2 times Greenwald limit was achieved by RF boronization. appears be connected impurity content edge parameters, so best results are obtained with very clean plasmas peaked electron profiles. peaking factors profiles for different current line averaged densities were observed. behaviour fuelling efficiency gas puffing...
A genetic algorithm (GA) and generalized least squares (GLS)-based approach, hereafter called GA-GLS, is proposed to solve geophysical optimized inversion. In this method, GA exploited initialize nonlinear parameter estimation, GLS used for accurate local search. Here, we compare the results from GA, GLS, GA-GLS invert synthesized potential field. The show that outperforms in terms of accuracy, as well which needs given initial parameters. real data are taken verify feasibility implementing...
Based on the thermo-physical properties of plasma air, temperature and flow fields an insulator–arrester with a multi-chamber system are investigated using three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics. The is assumed to be steady incompressible laminar in local thermodynamic equilibrium. results obtained show that arc inside chamber bends downwards, indicating Lorentz force induced directed away from exit pushes air down. outlet also provides passage for both out chamber.
