We describe a large urban outbreak of feline sporotrichosis caused by Sporothrix brasiliensis fungi in Argentina. Over 7-month period Puerto Iguazú, which borders Brazil, we identified culture-proven 9 cases across 7 households. Public health officials should coordinate cross-border One Health actions and institute context-specific interventions.

The aim of this study was to evaluate a wide panel antigens Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) select candidates for the diagnosis (PTB). A total 54 recombinant proteins were spotted onto nitrocellulose membranes and exposed sera from animals with PTB (n = 25), healthy 10), experimentally infected M. bovis 8). This initial screening allowed us seven antigens: MAP 2513, 1693, 2020, 0038, 1272, 0209c, 0210c, which reacted showed little cross-reactivity bovis. second step antigen...

Abstract The National Reference Laboratory in Clinical Mycology of Argentina conducted a retrospective review human coccidioidomycosis cases diagnosed by the Network between 2010 and 2022 to determine burden disease country. A total 100 were documented, with higher prevalence male patients (male-to-female ratio 1.9:1), median age 41 years. Comparing number two 10-year periods (2000–2009 2010–2019), increase was 36.51% (from 63 86 cases). Among recorded cases, 79 tested positive using double...

Coccidiomycosis is a potentially life-threatening fungal infection endemic to certain regions of Argentina. The caused by Coccidioides spp. and primarily diagnosed antibody (Ab) detection. Access rapid, highly accurate diagnostic testing critical ensure prompt antifungal therapy. sōna Ab Lateral Flow Assay (LFA) performs faster requires less laboratory infrastructure equipment compared with other detection assays, providing substantial improvement for rapid case screening in...

The binding and ingestion of Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) by host cells are fibronectin (FN) dependent. In several species mycobacteria, a specific family proteins allows the attachment internalization these bacteria epithelial through interaction with FN. Thus, identification adhesion molecules is essential to understand pathogenesis MAP. aim this study was identify characterize FN cell wall We searched for conserved adhesins within large panel surface immunogenic MAP...

The Delayed type hypersensitivity skin test (DTH) and interferon-gamma assay are used for the diagnosis of bovine tuberculosis (TBB). specificity these diagnoses, however, is compromised because both based on response against purified protein derivative Mycobacterium bovis (PPD-B). In this study, we assessed potential two cocktails containing M. recombinant proteins: cocktail 1 (C1): ESAT-6, CFP-10 MPB83 2 (C2): CFP-10, MPB83, HspX, TB10.3, MPB70. C1, C2, PPD-B showed similar by DTH in...

The species Mycobacterium bovis and avium subspecies paratuberculosis are the causal agents, respectively, of tuberculosis in animals. Both mycobacteria, especially M. bovis, also important to public health because they can infect humans. In recent years, this impact on animal production have led significant advances knowledge about both pathogens their host interactions. This article describes contribution genomics functional studies evolution, virulence, epidemiology diagnosis these...
