For many drugs, only racemic mixtures are available for clinical use. Because different stereoisomers of drugs often cause physiological responses, the use pure isomers could elicit more exact therapeutic effects. Differential complexation a variety drug by immobilized β-cyclodextrin was investigated. Chiral recognition and resolution were observed with number compounds from such clinically useful classes as β-blockers, calcium-channel blockers, sedative hypnotics, antihistamines,...

Abstract Cyclodextrin chiral phases have been shown to be widely applicable for the separation of enantiomers, diastereomers, structural isomers and routine compounds. Two innovations recently occured in this field. First, efficiency selectivity β-cyclodextrin column has improved. Second, compatable TLC plates which produce separations analogous columns developed. These results are discussed subsequent a brief review published work. In addition, mechanism on cyclodextrin bonded media,...

Abstract Klebsiella pneumoniae has been classified into two types, classical K. (cKP) and hypervirulent (hvKP). cKP isolates are highly diverse important causes of nosocomial infections; they include globally disseminated antibiotic-resistant clones. hvKP sensitive to most antibiotics but virulent, causing community-acquired infections in healthy individuals. The virulence phenotype is associated with pathogenicity loci responsible for siderophore hypermucoid capsule production. Recently,...

Using the macrocyclic antibiotic vancomycin as in capillary electrophoresis resolution of nonsteroidal anti inflammatories dansyl amino acids was achieved. Improvement sensitivity due elimination background absorbance increased efficiency removal wall adsorption effects are both this technique.
