A novel dual-mode microstrip square loop resonator is proposed using the slow-wave and dispersion features of open-loop resonator. It shown that designed fabricated filter has a wide stopband including first spurious resonance frequency. Also, it size reduction about 50% at same center frequency, as compared with bandpass filters such patch, cross-slotted loop, ring filter.
A capacitively loaded coplanar waveguide (CPW) resonator has been studied. It shown that the proposed can be used to achieve a slow-wave effect without occupying extra surface area and it good performance as compared with conventional half-wavelength CPW resonator. A novel type of dual-mode microstrip bandpass filter using degenerate modes a square loop resonator with capacitively loaded open-loop arms is proposed.
