Background:
The nature of sleep-wake abnormalities in individuals with mental disorders remains unclear. present study aimed to examine the differences objective ambulatory measures and activity cycles across young people anxiety, mood or psychotic disorders.
Methods:
Participants underwent several days actigraphy monitoring. We divided participants into 5 groups (control, anxiety disorder, unipolar depression, bipolar disorder) according primary diagnosis....
Background: Chinese-language speakers comprise the largest non-English speaking population in Australia but they have among lowest rates of mental health services utilisation. Material: A bilingual (Mandarin/English) researcher conducted in-depth interviews with China-born patients and members general community, service providers. Discussion: Participants identified several factors that limit access to healthcare as well quality care received: literacy, communication difficulties, stigma,...
Objectives: We examine the reliability and validity of Belief into Action (BIAC) scale among university students in provinces across Mainland China. Method: The BIAC Religious Commitment Inventory-10 were translated Chinese, administered with several other psychosocial measures to 1,830 college from three universities To assess test-retest reliability, was re-administered after two weeks 133 students. Results: Three factors extracted using principal components analysis Promax rotation, which...
Background— Organizational and wider health system factors influence the implementation success of interventions. Clinical Pathways in Acute Coronary Syndromes 2 is a cluster randomized trial clinical pathway–based intervention to improve acute coronary syndrome care hospitals China. We performed qualitative evaluation examine system-level barriers implementing pathways dynamic healthcare environment Methods Results— A descriptive analysis 40 in-depth interviews with professionals conducted...
Background- Substantial evidence-practice gaps exist in the management of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) China. Clinical pathways are tools for improving ACS quality care but have not been rigorously evaluated. Methods and Results- Between October 2007 August 2010, a improvement program was conducted 75 hospitals throughout China with mixed methods evaluation cluster randomized, controlled trial. Eligible were level 2 or 3 centers routinely admitting >100 patients per year. Hospitals...
Depression causes substantial disease burden in both developed and developing countries. To reduce this burden, we need to promote understanding of depression as a major health condition. The International Literacy Survey (IDLS) has been assess different cultural care settings.Four groups Australian university students completed the survey: medical second (n = 103) fourth 82) years graduate course, ethnic Chinese 184) general undergraduate 38).Differences between student were evident, with...
Establishing an evidence-based method of improving knowledge and attitudes concerning depression has been identified as a priority in Chinese medical education. The purpose this study was to determine whether self-directed learning strategy part student-centred education improved towards among students. A controlled trial which 205 students were allocated one two groups: didactic teaching (DT) group or combined (DT/SDL) group. DT/SDL continued having series activities after both groups had...
A Chinese version of the Duke University Religion Index (DUREL) was developed and psychometric properties were assessed. The study conducted in two separate samples 1,285 college students 2,564 community residents. To assess test-retest reliability, DUREL re-administered after 1 wk. to 105 199 In both samples, three factors extracted using principal components factor analysis with Promax rotation, which is consistent scale content. Internal consistency reliability acceptable. Test-retest...
Clinical pathways have been shown to be effective in improving quality of care for patients admitted hospital acute coronary syndromes (ACS) high-income countries. However, their utility has not formally evaluated low- or middle-income The Pathways Acute Coronary Syndromes China program is a 7-year study with the overall goal reducing evidence-practice gaps management hospitals suspected ACS. comprises 2 phases: prospective survey current ACS identify areas that evidence-based patient can...
The association, in different ethnic groups, of apolipoprotein E (apoE) gene polymorphism with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) has been unclear. Few studies have examined the association Chinese minorities. current study explores between apoE and MCI one biggest groups-the Hui-and compares it Han. Minimental State Exam, Activities Daily Living Scale, Geriatric Depression Scale were administered to 306 Hui 618 Han people aged ≥55 years. ApoE genotypes determined using high resolution melting...
Background: Senior high school students’ cigarette smoking prevalence is in Taiwan. Once addicted, quitting becomes very difficult and they could suffer both physical mental problems at adolescence. Therefore, often ends failure. To reduce it should be prevented This study tests the effect of using adolescent cognitive behavioral group therapy cessation program. Objective: assessed a We used one-group pretest-posttest design intervention trial. Methods: The duration for program was 4 weeks....
Objective To investigate the genotypes , allele frequencies and dynamic distribution on resistance associated esterase genes of Culex pipiens complex in Hangzhou. Methods The PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) assay was applied to type genes, surveillance gene natural population Hangzhou during 2003-2005, phenotype were detected by starch gel electrophoresis technique. Results PCR-RFLP for three consecutive years disclosed four genotypes, namely, world-wide highly active...
