This paper reports the preparation and properties of color-switchable fluorescent carbon nanodots (C-dots). C-dots that emit dark turquoise green–yellow fluorescence under 365 nm UV illumination were obtained from hydrothermal decomposition citric acid. Dark green by conjugating prepared to form C-dot@C-dot nanoparticles. After successful conjugation C-dots, emission undergoes a blue-shift nearly 20 (∼0.15 eV) excitation at 370 nm. The goldenrod, green–yellow, gold light 455 nm, which shows...

The Src homology 2 domain-containing tyrosine phosphatase (SHP-2) has been reported to have both tumor-promoting and tumor-suppressing roles in tumorigenesis. However, the role of SHP-2 tumor immunity remains unclear. Here we observed progressively lower levels phosphorylated tumor-associated CD4+ T cells during melanoma development a murine model. Similarly, human specimens revealed decrease paralleling cancer development. cell-specific deletion promoted metastasis mice. Furthermore,...

Effective in vivo fluorescence imaging for cancer screening and diagnostics requires bright biocompatible fluorophores whose emission can effectively penetrate biological tissues. Recent studies have confirmed that the second near-infrared window (NIR-II, 1000-1400 nm) is most sensitive spectral range due to ultralow tissue absorption autofluorescence. We report herein a facile synthesis of Ag2S quantum dots (QDs) emit at ∼1100 nm using β-lactoglobulin (β-LG) as template. The β-LG protein...

Signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) is constitutively active in approximately 50% acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cases mediates multiple cellular processes including cell resistance to apoptosis. Inhibition STAT3 has been shown induce AML Our aim was ascertain if sorafenib, a multikinase inhibitor, may also inhibit signaling and, therefore, be efficacious for AML. We found that sorafenib inhibited proliferation induced apoptosis human line (HL60) cells. In addition,...

Elderly exhibit accumulating deficits in visual motion perception, which is critical for humans to interact with their environment. Previous studies have suggested that aging generally reduces neuronal inhibition the system. Here, we investigated how affects local intra-cortical using a direction discrimination task based on repulsion phenomenon. Motion refers phenomenon by observers overestimate perceived angle when two superimposed dot patterns are moving at an acute angle. The...
