In this paper, we analyze the occurrence, abundance, and type of plastic debris (PD) present on digestive tracts 65 white croakers (Micropogonias furnieri) catches from Rio de la Plata Estuary System (RLPES). Eighty percent individuals analyzed had ingested PD, which 156 were thread-like plastics (FO = 83.9 %) 30 fragments 16.1%). The average number pieces per tract was 2.83 ± 3.14. Microplastic represented 85% majority these <2 mm, preeminent color blue. RLPES is area Southwest Atlantic...

Sightings and strandings of humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) along the coast Buenos Aires Province in Argentina were once sporadic but have increased by up to 640% since 2018. Here, we assess trends seasonality occurrence anthropogenic-derived mortality this population between 2003 2021. Most found dead young animals, 27% stranded showed signs anthropogenic interactions. The information collected from over past two decades clearly indicates that are becoming more frequent growing...

Abstract The mammalian heart has been described as a highly evolutionarily conserved structure and the cardiovascular system allometry fully studied among many species, but few of these studies have focused on marine mammals. Previously reported electrocardiogram (ECG) anesthetized Southern sea lions (SSL; n = 13) South American fur seals (SAFS; 19) females were compared, linear models used to examine variations ECG parameters with body mass (BM) rate (HR). Electrocardiograms resulted in...
Abstract The aim of this study was to make the first characterization electrocardiogram (ECG) Burmeister porpoise ( Phocoena sipinipinnis ). A total three ECGs were made in one, wild juvenile female (body weight = 32.5 kg, Lt 1.45 m), temporarily held captivity for rehabilitation at Mar del Plata Aquarium (Argentina). For ECG recordings, animal removed from its pool on a stretcher under constant veterinary supervision. traditional six‐lead system frontal plane used, with typical four...
SUMMARY The novel Coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, is the causative agent of 2020 worldwide coronavirus pandemic. Antibody testing useful for diagnosing historic infections a disease in population. These tests are also helpful epidemiological tool predicting how virus spreads community, relating antibody levels to immunity and assessing herd immunity. In present study, SARS-CoV-2 viral proteins were recombinantly produced used analyse serum from individuals previously exposed, or not, SARS-CoV-2....
