LEONIS Mova high-flow type (SB-KAWASUMI LABORATORIES, Kanagawa, Japan) is a steerable microcatheter that enables angle adjustment of the catheter tip using hand-operated dial, and available as coaxial system with 1.6-F microcatheter. It was used to navigate an occluded inferior petrosal sinus (IPS) in patient cavernous (CS) dural arteriovenous fistula (AVF). A man his 50s presenting right eye congestion diagnosed AVF CS bilateral IPSs. The shunted pouch located medial-lateral part CS,...

Introduction While there are several advantages to utilizing robotics in liver surgery compared traditional open and laparoscopic approaches, the most challenging part of robotic resection (RLR) remains parenchymal transection. This is primarily due constraints existing tools absence a standard procedure. study presents detailed technical aspects our novel saline-linked cautery (SLiC) method for RLR assesses short-term outcomes both non-anatomical anatomical RLRs. Background and purpose During carotid artery stenting (CAS) with the use of closed cell design stents for unstable plaques, tissue prolapse between stent struts was evaluated by optical coherence tomography (OCT). Methods 14 stenosis lesions diagnosed as plaques MRI were OCT imaging during CAS using stents. Cross sectional images within stented segment at 1 mm intervals. The slice rate presence calculated. Results No intra-procedural complications occurred. After single placement, plaque...

In this work, we evaluated the impact of gold nanoparticles on endothelial cell behavior and function beyond influence viability. Five types were studied: 5 nm 20 bare nanoparticles, with biocompatible polyethylene glycol (PEG) coating 60 nanoparticles. We found that all tested did not affect viability significantly reduced reactive oxygen species (ROS) level in cells. Only caused an over 50% increase barrier permeability slow recovery was observed after removed. This impairment by...

BACKGROUND Cerebral proliferative angiopathy (CPA) is a rare vascular disease; however, long-term follow-up reports are scarce. The authors report case and document patient’s medical history over 20 years. OBSERVATIONS A 5-year-old girl developed left frontal lobe hemorrhage, presenting with headache. At 8 years of age, angiography showed diffuse capillary ectasia without an arteriovenous shunt. Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) normal cerebral blood flow (CBF). She had...

The ED coil-10 Extra Soft (EDC-10 ES) is an extremely soft coil with excellent operability for embolization of cerebral aneurysms and frequently used as a 'finishing coil'. aim this study was to evaluate the efficacy safety coil.Clinical data were analyzed retrospectively 92 consecutive which at least one EDC-10 ES used. Follow-up angiography 6 months available 69 aneurysms. Initial follow-up outcomes evaluated using three-category occlusion grading. Factors that affect packing density also...

Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) is generally treated with anticoagulation therapy, however, endovascular therapy considered for refractory cases. A 42-year-old woman presented a progressive disturbance in consciousness, and diagnosed CVST the straight (SS). Recanalization of SS was achieved by emergent thrombectomy using aspiration catheter stent-retriever system, her level consciousness improved immediately. The combined use them aided removal thrombus located SS.

Antimicrotubule drugs (AMDs), such as taxol and vincristine, are the most important addition to chemotherapeutic armamentarium against human cancers. It has been shown that prolonged AMD treatment induces hyperploidy in G1-checkpoint-defective cancer cells these hyperploid subsequently undergo apoptosis. However, a fraction of able survive mitotic stress resume cell-cycle progression. We established clones escaped from cell death after two glioma lines, U251MG U87MG. Subtractive comparative...

Abstract To elucidate the structural abnormalities and relationship between chromosome disorders DNA copy number aberrations in tumor cells, we applied techniques of spectral karyotyping (SKY), comparative genomic hybridization (CGH), fluorescence situ (FISH), using yeast artificial (YAC) probes for nine human glioblastoma cell lines. One striking finding was that independently derived lines had same recurrent marker chromosomes. Seven chromosomes were detected by these cytogenetic methods....
