Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a relentlessly progressive lethal disease that involves selective annihilation of motoneurons. Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) proposed to be promising therapeutic agent for ALS and other motor neuron diseases. Because adeno-associated virus (AAV) has been developed as an attractive gene delivery system with proven safety, we explored the efficacy intramuscular GDNF mediated by AAV vector (AAV-GDNF) in G93A mouse model ALS. We show...

Background Castleman disease (CD) is a relatively rare benign lymphoproliferative disorder of the lymphoid tissue. According to clinical manifestations, it classified into two types: unicentric CD (UCD) and multicentric (MCD). Pathological subtypes include hyaline-vascular (HV), plasma cell (PC), mixed (MV). Gastrointestinal extremely rare, limited information available regarding its presentation management. Case Summary We report case patient who presented with paroxysmal epigastric pain...

To optimise medication administration, prevent errors and improve inpatient safety.Interventions are needed to reduce medication-related patient safety.A five-point management intervention strategy was developed implemented. A quasi-experimental design used examine its effects.Comparing pre-intervention data with post-intervention data, the rate of accurate compliance policies procedures increased from 86.7% (645/744 doses observed) 97.5% (725/744). The success administration 94.0% (466/496...

Objective To investigate if the role of Cav-1 in GDM-induced macrosomia is through regulating AMPK signaling pathway placenta. Methods We used diagnostic criteria gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and to separate compare placental protein mRNA levels from GDM with group (GDMM), normal birth weight (GDMN) glucose tolerance (NGT) (CON). Western blotting was performed examine differentially expressed proteins caveolin-1 (Cav-1) Adenosine monophosphate-activated kinase (AMPK) related proteins,...

Abstract Acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) remains a major obstacle for the wider usage of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT), which is an effective therapy malignancy. Here we show that caspase-11, cytosolic receptor bacterial endotoxin (lipopolysaccharide: LPS), enhances GVHD severity. Allo-HSCT markedly increases LPS-caspase-11 interaction, leading to cleavage gasdermin D (GSDMD). Caspase-11 and GSDMD mediate release interleukin-1α (IL-1α) in allo-HSCT....

Traditionally, AI models are trained on the central cloud with data collected from end devices. This leads to high communication cost, long response time and privacy concerns. Recently Edge empowered AI, namely has been proposed support model learning deployment at network edge closer sources. Existing research including federated adopts a centralized architecture for where server aggregates updates clients/workers. The drawbacks such as performance bottleneck, poor scalability single point...

Abstract Neural progenitor cells have shown the effectiveness in treatment of Parkinson's disease, but therapeutic efficacy remains variable. One important factors that determine is necessity pre‐differentiation into dopaminergic neurons before transplantation. This study therefore investigated mesencephalon‐derived human neural with or without alleviating a rat model disease. We found combination 50 ng/ml fibroblast growth factor 8, 10 glial cell line‐derived neurotrophic and μM forskolin...
