Betulinic, ursolic and oleanolic acids isolated from the aerial parts of Eriope blanchetii (Lamiaceae) were subjected to different esterification reactions, yielding 12 C-3 position ester derivatives. All compounds identified using spectroscopic techniques, such as IR, 1H-NMR MS. The derivatives further investigated for their antioxidant level, Artemia salina lethality antimicrobial activity.
The world is changing rapidly, even work. main new features of the labor market relate mainly to supremacy consumption over production, ease with which you can access information, space conquered by ideas and knowledge and, most recently, sharing experiences, led sense making organizational business culture. These deep changes are grafted into models that gradually try satisfy demands market. By Taylor-Fordist model Japanese based on "just in time" many things have changed, but it has...
Abstract: Eumenine mastoparan‐AF (EMP‐AF) is a novel membrane active tetradecapeptide recently isolated from the venom of solitary wasp, Anterhynchium flavomarginatum micado . It was reported previously that EMP‐AF peptide presented low cytolytic activities in human erythrocytes and RBL‐2H3 mast cells. In present work, we observed this able to permeate anionic liposomes, less extension also neutral ones. We evidences showing permeation ability well correlated with amount helical conformation...
This work describes the chemical composition and antimicrobial activity of volatile oils Ocimum canum selloi, both occurring in Jequié/BA, northeastern Brazil. The plants were collected winter/2005 andsummer/2006, extracted by steam distillation further analyzed GC-MS. A total 30 31 compounds was identified from O. selloi canum, respectively. It observed that oil content showed variation during seasons, while did not. Methylchavicol linalool main components found aerial parts leaves canum....
COVID-19 is a lethal disease caused by the pandemic SARS-CoV-2, which continues to be public health threat. principally respiratory and often associated with sputum retention cytokine storm, for there are limited therapeutic options. In this regard, we evaluated use of BromAc®, combination Bromelain Acetylcysteine (NAC). Both drugs present mucolytic effect have been studied treat COVID-19. Therefore, sought examine anti-inflammatory BromAc® in tracheal aspirate samples from critically ill...
Comprehensive LC-MS and MS/MS analysis of the crude venom extract from solitary eumenine wasp Eumenes micado revealed component profile this mostly consisted small peptides. The major peptide components, mastoparan-EM1 (EMP-EM1: LKLMGIVKKVLGAL-NH2) mastoparan-EM2 (EMP-EM2: LKLLGIVKKVLGAI-NH2), were purified characterized by conventional method. sequences these new peptides are homologous to mastoparans, mast cell degranulating social venoms; they 14 amino acid residues in length, rich...
to study vulvovaginal candidiasis from the vaginal fluid of women with and without clinical suspicion, identifying frequency Candida spp., associating it intrinsic extrinsic risk factors.a total 286 samples patients attended in private practices public health units August 2005 2007 were collected, being 121 under suspicion 165, without. The collected sterile swabs, taken laboratory 0.85% physiological solution, then seeded CHROMagar 4% agar Sabourad chloramphenicol. Classical identification...
Thin layer chromatography (TLC) stained with hot acidic p-anisaldehyde, is an interesting, fast, and low-cost technique to monitor main lipid contaminants such as triacylglicerols, diacylglycerols, monoacylglycerols in biodiesel. These acylglycerols are detectable by the proposed planar chromatographic method, provided content of exceeds limits recommended international norms applicable biodiesel quality/specification, namely 0.25% mass for total combined glycerin. The TLC data confirmed gas...
Nosocomial infections bring a high risk to the health of hospital patients and employees.Ants are common organisms in Brazilian hospitals, where they can act as dispersers opportunistic microorganisms places forage. The occurrence multi-resistant bacteria carried by ants was analyzed two public hospitals (HA HB) southeastern Bahia, Brazil. In these 132 workers belonging three ant species were collected. The associated identifi ed their susceptibility antibiotics evaluated.More than half (57.3%)...
PURPOSE: To characterize the anatomy of fruit and leaf presence phytocompounds. evaluate antitumor antimicrobial activity ethanolic extract Garcinia mangostana L. (mangosteen) cultivated in southeastern Brazil. METHODS: Anatomical characterization histochemical reactions were performed for structural identification Preparation fruit, resin mangosteen. Culture B16-F10 melanoma cells treatment with mangosteen to determine cell viability by MTT genotoxic effect comet assay. Evaluation against...
Symbiotic microorganisms are directly related to the ecological success of host insects, influencing many aspects their biology. The present study is first investigate microbiota associated with ants subfamily Ponerinae and aims identify bacterial midgut communities Dinoponera lucida, Pachycondyla curvinodis, striata, Odontomachus brunneus bauri. After dissecting midguts these ants, DNA was extracted, 16S rRNA gene amplified via PCR using universal primers pair 27F/1492R. obtained products...
The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), challenged public health systems worldwide. Individuals in low-income countries/regions are still at individual and community risk concerning inequality, sanitation, economic conditions. Besides, during transmission municipalities communities countryside less developed regions kept viral spread required structured strengthened clinical laboratory surveillance. Here, we present an observational,...
The goal of this study was to assess the presence and surfactant potential naturally occurring microbes from a tropical soil with petrochemical contamination. Microorganisms in sample Brazilian landfarm were isolated grown on petroleum as sole carbon source. Of 60 isolates screened for petroleum-based growth, 7 demonstrated activities by drop–collapse methodology over various types oils. From their growth profiles liquid culture during 132 h, all had first detection activity after 96 h....
DGGE for detection of bacterial and yeast communities on salinity. In addition, the dissolved oxygen content, temperature, pH, salinity, inorganic nutrient contents (NH 3 + , NO 2 -, PO 4 -) were determined.Nutrients distributed in similar patterns, with decreasing concentrations as salinity increases.
In December 2019, a novel coronavirus was detected in Wuhan, China, and rapidly spread worldwide. Brazil, to date, there have been more than 20,000,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 550,000 deaths. The purpose the current study determine clinical epidemiological profile population affected by that attended referral hospitals Southern region Bahia State, better understand disease its risk factors order enable appropriate conduct for patients. An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional,...

Ectatomma tuberculatum has one of the most toxic venoms known among ants but there is no detailed study on its characteristics. In light this, knowing venom’s chemical composition paramount importance in order to obtain information about mechanisms components. Several bioactive molecules have already been identified Hymenoptera venoms, i.e., proteins such as phospholipases, hyaluronidases, and proteinases, well peptides. Protein databases show that protein components ant recently growing...
