ABSTRACT The vagus nerve is crucial in regulating physiological functions, including the cardiovascular system. While heart rate (HR) and its variability (HRV) may provide non‐invasive proxies of cardiac vagal activity, transcutaneous auricular stimulation (taVNS) has yielded mixed effects, with limited research on right branch stimulation. In a randomized crossover study 36 healthy participants, we investigated taVNS effects HR HRV indexed by SDRR, RMSSD, HF‐HRV, LF/HF ratio. To assess...

Abstract The vagus nerve plays a critical role in balancing the body’s physiological functions, including cardiovascular system. Measures of heart rate (HR) and its variability (HRV) may provide non-invasive proxies vagal activity humans, but transcutaneous auricular stimulation (taVNS) has produced mixed effects so far—limited by lack studies stimulating right branch. Here, we used randomized cross-over design to study taVNS on HR HRV. To estimate how side (left vs. ear) affects function,...

This paper describes a system combining distributed setup based on Hadoop, MapReduce, Impala and general semantic model focusing common entities (people, organizations, places) their connections as co-occurrences facts offering the analysts opportunity to do mining in social networks. Emphasis is given recall rather than precision, suggesting analyst many possible relations be explored. Early studies have shown interesting results, further explorations are planned extend reach abilities of system.

Many countries use the WHO Essential Medicines List (EML) as a guide for health policy choices to promote efficient of healthcare resources or adopt concept essential medicines (EMs) develop their own national list medicines. The aim this study is analyse availability and included in 22nd EML Italy.Using ATC code (5th level), comparison was made between those retrieved from Italian Agency (AIFA) database. (regulatory reimbursement status) EMs, well market share expenditure (million euros)...
