0.4 mg kg-1以上のカドミウムを含む玄米をスクリーニングするための手法として既報のイムノクロマトグラフィーを評価した.209検体の玄米をイムノクロマトグラフィー,誘導結合プラズマ発光分析法(ICP-AES)及び原子吸光法によって測定し,ICP-AESの分析値を真値と仮定してイムノクロマトグラフィー及び原子吸光法のスクリーニング性能を評価した.0.1~0.6 kg-1のカドミウム濃度範囲におけるイムノクロマトグラフィーとICP-AESの相関は0.92±0.03であり,両者は良い相関を示した.イムノクロマトグラフィーを用いたスクリーニングでは,判定の基準となる濃度(カットオフ値)を0.3 kg-1とすることで,偽陰性と偽陽性の発生が最も少なくなり,このとき偽陰性の発生率は0%,偽陽性の発生率は4.7%であった.また,receiver-operating characteristic(ROC)プロットによってスクリーニング性能を評価したところ,本イムノクロマトグラフィーのスクリーニング性能は原子吸光法と同程度であることが示された.
