The ATLAS trial compared axitinib versus placebo in patients with locoregional renal cell carcinoma (RCC) at risk of recurrence after nephrectomy. In a phase III, randomized, double-blind trial, had >50% clear-cell RCC, undergone nephrectomy, and no evidence macroscopic residual or metastatic disease [independent review committee (IRC) confirmed]. intent-to-treat population included all randomized [≥pT2 and/or N+, any Fuhrman grade (FG), Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group status 0/1]....

Three cases are illustrated. One was treated with maxillary microscrew implants, another mandibular and the third both implants. With anterior teeth were retracted bodily a slight intrusion all premolar extraction space closed without loss of anchorage. Furthermore, posterior showed distal movement. The implants controlled vertical position played an important role in improving facial profile. efficacy sliding mechanics implant anchorage on treatment skeletal Class II malocclusion is also discussed.

Bisphosphonate-related jaw necrosis (BRONJ) associated with dental implants is a rare but continuously reported complication. To verify clinical and pathological characteristics of BRONJ around implants, the present study analyzed clinical, radiographic histopathological findings these lesions.Nineteen patients were diagnosed osteonecrosis treated at our institute from 2008 to 2011. The patients' medical history, demographic features, radiographic, along information on bisphosphonates (BP)...

The maxillary and mandibular posterior teeth were retracted with microscrew implants (1.2 mm in diameter six to 10 long) that placed into the alveolar bone used as anchorage. retraction proceeded without adverse reciprocal effects on reactive part of conventional mechanics, such premolar extrusion flaring incisors. anterior crowding was resolved any deleterious effect facial profile. En masse movement whole dentition after tooth alignment can reducethe treatment period maximize efficiency...

Angiogenesis and bone formation are intimately related processes. Hypoxia during early development stabilizes hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) increases angiogenic signals including vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Furthermore, stabilization of HIF-1α by genetic or chemical means stimulates formation. On the other hand, deficiency Runx2, a key osteogenic transcription factor, prevents invasion VEGF expression. This study explores possibility that Runx2 interact to activate...

Calvarial bone is formed by the intramembranous bone-forming process, which involves many signaling molecules. The constitutive activation of fibroblast growth factor (FGF) pathway accelerates osteoblast differentiation and results in premature cranial suture closure. Bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) pathways, involve downstream transcription factors Dlx5 Msx2, are also involved processes. However, relationships between these two main cascades still unclear. We found that FGF2 treatment...

The human tooth is the hardest organ of body, and composed enamel, dentin, dental pulp. Dentin provides basis shape by lining inner parts root crown. Odontoblasts deposit an organic matrix that contains collagen, noncollagenous proteins, phospholipids, growth factors. In this study, we sought to reveal proteins in dentin using liquid chromatography−tandem mass spectroscopy (LC-MS/MS) proteomic approaches. Human third molar dentins were cut, isolated, demineralized, extracted separated on...

Parathyroid hormone (PTH) is a potent anabolic agent for the treatment of osteoporosis. However, its mechanism action in osteoblast and bone not well understood. In this study, we show that actions PTH are severely impaired both growing adult ovariectomized mice lacking bone-related activating transcription factor 4 (ATF4). Our study demonstrates ATF4 deficiency suppresses PTH-stimulated proliferation survival abolishes PTH-induced differentiation, which, together, compromise response. We...
