Freshwater shrimp of the family Atyidae De Haan, 1849 have been studied in Vietnam for more than a century. A total 24 species atyid shrimps from genera Caridina H. Milne Edwards, 1837, Neocaridina Kubo, 1938, Atyopsis Chace, 1983 recorded Vietnam. With 22 species, majority are genus Caridina. In 2013, Karge and Klotz mentioned occurrence four yet undescribed belonging to Paracaridina Liang, Guo & Tang, 1999 without taxonomic details. In general, studies freshwater atyids limited most...
The first stygobitic species of atyid freshwater shrimps from Vietnam is described Cuc Phuong National Park, Northern Vietnam. Caridina thachlam sp. nov. can be distinguished its congeners by a suite morphological characters such as strongly reduced eyes without eyestalk, short and almost unarmed rostrum slender pereiopods. Molecular phylogenetic data the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) 16S ribosomal RNA genes also support distinctiveness new all other that we have examined.
Cham Islands (Cu Lao Cham) is a group of 8 small islands in the Quang Nam province, Central Vietnam. There only one study that mentioned diversity marine molluscs this area. However, data on species composition have not been digitised and stored or shared for other purposes. Our paper aims to share checklist mollusc (Bivalvia Gastropoda) we collected from littoral zone May 2017. This first online It very important researchers various fields such as structure function ecology biodiversity...
Freshwater mussels belonging to the genus Cristaria Schumacher, 1817 (Bivalvia: Unionidae) are widespread from Mongolia Indochina while range of one species, C. plicata (Leach, 1814), covers two biogeographic subregions, i.e., East Asian (Amur River Vietnam) and Sundaland (Mekong basin). We present here a taxonomic revision nominal taxon Anodonta bellua Morelet, 1866 which was described Mekong (Lake Tonle-Sap, Cambodia) but is currently considered synonym . obtained molecular data for newly...
Abstract To clarify the effect of niche conservatism on evolutionary history, we focused freshwater snails, which have different ecological and phylogenetic properties from previously tested taxa. We conducted a analysis using 750 lymnaeid individuals 357 sites eleven Radix species. Then, estimated ancestral distribution geographic coordinates colonization routes. In addition, statistical test distances in latitudinal longitudinal directions was performed. also modeling for two widely...
A revision of Vietnamese freshwater gastropods the family Pachychilidae is presented based on analysis morphological characteristics and partial sequences mitochondrial genes 16S rRNA (16S) cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI). We found that in Vietnam two pachychilid genera occur, Brotia Sulcospira. Of eight to fifteen species reported by earlier authors, we can only confirm presence species, Sulcospira tonkiniana S. tourannensis. All further taxonomic names were previously applied for...
Abstract The insular limestone karsts of northern Vietnam harbor a very rich biodiversity. Many taxa are strongly associated with these environments, and individual species communities can differ considerably among karst areas. exact processes that have shaped the biotic composition habitats, however, remain largely unknown. In this study, role two major for assembly snail on was investigated, interspecific competition filtering due to geographical factors. Communities operculate land snails...
Limestone karsts can form terrestrial habitat islands for calcium-dependent organisms. In Vietnam, many karst habitats are threatened, while their rich biodiversity is still far from being thoroughly explored. Given that conservation of biota strongly relies on correct species identification, the presence undetected cryptic pose severe problems. The present study focuses diversity among karst-inhabiting land snails genus Cyclophorus in northern where specimens with a similar shell morphology...
Species in the genus Pollicaria (Gastropoda: Pupinidae) are conspicuous members of southeast Asian land snail fauna. Originally erected 1856, both and its constituent species have been reorganized multiple times with most recent treatment published 2013. Collections Vietnamese during 2014 2015 raised questions utility currently used diagnostic shell characters identification keys identification. An examination authors’ collections, combined museum specimens, suggested that at least three...
Integrating the relational approach and social exchange theory, authors conceptualize quality of leader‒member team member exchanges as mediators for understanding role transformational leadership in employee proactive behaviors (e.g., voice, taking charge, innovative behaviors). The results based on data collected from 352 full-time employees working pharmaceutical companies Vietnam largely support proposed theoretical framework shed light mechanism through which style influences...
Abstract South-east Asian apple snails, Pila spp., have been declining since the introduction of globally invasive, confamilial South American Pomacea yet ecology remains poorly studied, with most occurrence records unconfirmed. scutata , a previously widespread species, presumed native to Malay peninsula and assessed as Least Concern in IUCN Red List, was formerly harvested for food, may experienced anthropogenic translocations. We surveyed (specifically Peninsular Malaysia Singapore)...
Macrobrachium phongnhaense sp. n. is a new species of troglobitic shrimp discovered in some caves Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh province, Vietnam (figure 1-2). Table 1. VIETBIO [Innovative approaches to biodiversity discovery and characterisation in Vietnam] is a bilateral German-Vietnamese research capacity building project focusing on the development transfer of new methods technology towards an integrated monitoring system for Vietnam. Dedicated field training testing innovative methodologies were undertaken Cuc Phuong National Park as part with support project, which led data records made available this article collection. collaboration between Museum...
Our recent surveys in North Vietnam found three species of the potamid genus Chinapotamon Dai & Naiyanetr, 1994. Two may be identified as described from Southern China, C. depressum (Dai, Song, Li Liang, 1980) and pusillum (Song, 1984), one is new to science. The can distinguished other congeners by its smaller carapace size, more subquadrate carapace, strongly convex rugose dorsal, low epigastric postorbital cristae, high epibranchial tooth, deep notch between tooth anterolateral...
