Abstract Background The World Health Organization (WHO) called for global action towards the elimination of cervical cancer. One main strategies is to screen 70% women at age between 35 and 45 years 90% managed appropriately by 2030. So far, approximately 85% cancers occur in low- middle-income countries (LMICs). colposcopy-guided biopsy crucial detecting intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) becomes bottleneck limiting screening performance. Unprecedented advances artificial intelligence (AI)...

Cervical cancer causes the fourth most cancer-related deaths of women worldwide. Early detection cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) can significantly increase survival rate patients. In this paper, we propose a deep learning framework for accurate identification LSIL+ (including CIN and cancer) using time-lapsed colposcopic images. The proposed involves two main components, i.e., key-frame feature encoding networks fusion network. features original (pre-acetic-acid) image images...

Abstract Background Colposcopy diagnosis and directed biopsy are the key components in cervical cancer screening programs. However, their performance is limited by requirement for experienced colposcopists. This study aimed to develop validate a Colposcopic Artificial Intelligence Auxiliary Diagnostic System (CAIADS) grading colposcopic impressions guiding biopsies. Methods Anonymized digital records of 19,435 patients were obtained from six hospitals across China. These included images,...

Peripheral nerve injury (PNI) is a public health concern that results in sensory and motor disorders as well neuropathic pain secondary lesions. Currently, effective treatments for PNI are still limited. For example, while growth factor (NGF) widely used the treatment of to promote regeneration, it also induces pain. Maresin 1 (MaR1) an anti-inflammatory proresolving mediator has potential regenerate tissue. We determined whether MaR1 able regeneration alleviating pain, be considered...

Reading small bowel capsule endoscopy (SBCE) videos is a tedious task for clinicians, and new method should be applied to solve the situation. To develop evaluate performance of convolutional neural network algorithm SBCE video review in real-life clinical care.In this multicenter, retrospective diagnostic study, deep learning (SmartScan) was trained validated review. A total 2927 examinations from 29 medical centers were used train SmartScan detect 17 types CE structured terminology (CEST)...

Inappropriate management of high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL) may be the result an inaccurate colposcopic diagnosis. The aim this study was to assess performance in identifying HSIL+ cases and analyze associated clinical factors.Records from 1130 patients admitted Shenzhen Maternal Child Healthcare Hospital 12th January, 2018 up until 30th December, were retrospectively collected, included demographics, cytological results, HPV status, transformation zone type, number...

Clinicians face increasing workloads in medical imaging interpretation, and artificial intelligence (AI) offers potential relief. This meta-analysis evaluates the impact of human-AI collaboration on image interpretation workload. Four databases were searched for studies comparing reading time or quantity image-based disease detection before after AI integration. The Quality Assessment Studies Diagnostic Accuracy was modified to assess risk bias. Workload reduction relative diagnostic...

We report a photoredox-catalyzed three-component sulfonaminoalkynylation of alkenes with N-aminopyridine salts and potassium alkynyltrifluoroborate salts. This aminoalkylation reaction underwent radial/polar crossover mechanism, which was distinguished from the previous reports. A variety β-alkynylated sulfonamides were obtained in moderate to excellent yields. The versatility this method further evidenced by its successful application modifying biological molecules advanced stages development.

Background In low- and middle-income countries, cervical cancer remains a leading cause of death morbidity for women. Early detection treatment precancerous lesions are critical in prevention, colposcopy is primary diagnostic tool identifying guiding biopsies. Abstract Background Colposcopy alone can result in misidentification of high-grade squamous intraepithelial or worse lesions (HSIL +), especially for women with Type 3 transformation zone (TZ) lesions, where colposcopic assessment is particularly imprecise. This study aimed to improve HSIL + case identification by supplementing referral screening results findings. Methods an observational multicenter 2,417 women, referred colposcopy after receiving cervical cancer results. Logistic...

Cytology-based triaging is commonly used to manage the care of women with positive human papillomavirus (HPV) results, but it suffers from subjectivity and a lack sensitivity reproducibility. The diagnostic performance an artificial intelligence-enabled liquid-based cytology (AI-LBC) triage approach remains unclear. Here, we compared clinical AI-LBC, cytologists HPV16/18 genotyping at HPV-positive women.HPV-positive were triaged using genotyping. Histologically confirmed cervical...
