The effect of incorporation silicone oils into a siloxane-polyurethane fouling-release coatings system was explored. Incorporation phenylmethyl oil has been shown to improve the performance silicone-based through increased interfacial slippage. extent improvement is highly dependent upon type and composition used. (SiPU) coating tough solution, which combines mechanical durability polyurethane while maintaining comparable with regard commercial standards. To further siloxane-PU system, use...

We report on the marine fouling and release effects caused by variations of surface mechanical properties microtopography engineering polymers. Polymeric materials were covered with hierarchical micromolded topographical patterns inspired shell decapod crab Myomenippe hardwickii. These micropatterned surfaces deployed in field static immersion tests. PDMS, polyurethane, PMMA higher elastic modulus hardness found to accumulate more exhibited poor properties. The results indicate interplay...

A series of eight novel siloxane-polyurethane fouling-release (FR) coatings were assessed for their FR performance in both the laboratory and field. Laboratory analysis included adhesion assessments bacteria, microalgae, macroalgal spores, adult barnacles pseudobarnacles using high-throughput screening techniques, while field evaluations conducted accordance with standardized testing methods at three different ocean sites over course six-months exposure. The data collected subjected to...

Magnesium-based materials are the most sought-after metallic for weight saving applications. Its low density (∼33% lighter than aluminum) makes it an ideal choice aerospace, space, sports, automobile and electronic industries. Magnesium based components can be even if these manufactured hollow. However, studies on structural integrity of hollow magnesium-based limited hence, this study documents stability components. Centralized cylindrical holes (1, 1.5, 2 3 mm in diameter) were drilled 8...

Erosion is known to cost the oil and gas industry millions of dollars in maintenance repairs. While velocity, particle size, angle impact material properties such as hardness target are affect erosion rate, little about effects stress state itself. This paper studies individual combined angle, velocity from an external tensile load on rates mild steel S275JR. Loads up 70% yield strength (YS) was applied were determined weight loss samples. Microscopy analyses, tests, 2D 3D profilometry also...

Overpoling phenomenon has been observed in flux-grown Pb(Mg1∕3Nb2∕3)O3–(31–32)%PbTiO3 single crystals when poled above 0.4kV∕mm at room temperature. This leads to increased property variations intermediate poling fields (0.6–0.8kV∕mm) and the degradation of piezoelectric properties high (⩾1.0kV∕mm). In comparison, both PMN–28%PT PMN–30%PT crystal compositions are resistant overpoling, which exhibits superior dielectric with KT≈7500–9000, d33≈2200–2500pC∕N, d31≈1100–1400pC∕N. The...
