Exercise is an effective nonpharmacological strategy to alleviate diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM) through poorly defined mechanisms. FGF21 (fibroblast growth factor 21), a peptide hormone with pleiotropic benefits on cardiometabolic homeostasis, has been identified as exercise responsive factor. This study aims investigate whether signaling mediates the of DCM, and if so, elucidate underlying The global or hepatocyte-specific knockout mice, cardiomyocyte-selective β-klotho (the obligatory...

Generation of widely differing and specialized cell types from a single totipotent zygote involves large-scale transcriptional changes chromatin reorganization. Pioneer transcription factors play key roles in programming the epigenome facilitating recruitment additional regulatory during successive lineage specification differentiation steps. Here we show that Isl1 acts as pioneer factor driving cardiomyocyte commitment by shaping landscape cardiac progenitor cells. Using an hypomorphic...

Regulatory T cells (Tregs) and B present in gut-associated lymphoid tissues (GALT) are both implicated the resolution of colitis. However, how functions these coordinated remains elusive. We used dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis model combined with gene-modified mice to monitor progression colitis, simultaneously examine number Tregs cells, production IgA antibodies. found that DSS-treated exhibited more severe absence adoptive transfer attenuated disease. Moreover, IL-10−/− also...

ABSTRACT Background The outbreak of a new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) disease (Covid-19) has become pandemic. To be more effectively controlling the disease, it is critical to set up an optimal quarantine period so that about 95% cases developing symptoms will retained for isolation. At moment, WHO-established 14 days based on previous reports which had studied small sizes hospitalized (10 and ∼100, respectively), however, over 80% adult- child-cases were not necessary stay in hospitals,...

Abstract Mitochondrial metabolism is pivotal for glucose-stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS) in pancreatic β-cells. However, little known about the molecular machinery that controls homeostasis of intermediary metabolites mitochondria. Here we show activation p53 β-cells, by genetic deletion or pharmacological inhibition its negative regulator MDM2, impairs GSIS, leading to glucose intolerance mice. Mechanistically, represses expression mitochondrial enzyme pyruvate carboxylase (PC),...

ICU nurses frequently confront lengthy working hours, elevated job intensity, heavy medical responsibilities, round-the-clock shifts, and a comparatively closed environment. The high-risk, high-intensity, high-stress nature of the profession may prompt to consider resignation, culminating in significant shortage nursing staff, adversely affecting health well-being nurses. Necessitating comprehensive investigation into factors influencing their subjective interrelations among these factors,...
