Abstract Hybosoridae comprise five extant subfamilies (Anaidinae, Ceratocanthinae, Hybosorinae, Liparochrinae and Pachyplectrinae). The phylogenetics of Anaidinae Ceratocanthinae have been analysed previously. This is the first thorough analysis with greater representation entire family, especially regarding Hybosorinae. present study tested monophyly Hybosoridae; relationships its among genera; ‘incertae sedis’ placement hybosorid genera Borrochrus Daimothoracodes Orubesa, currently...

Male and female adults, pupa, last-instar larva, galls of azapaensis Vargas & Moreira, sp. n., are described illustrated from Azapa Valley northern Atacama Desert. The larvae induce fusiform on shoots shrub Baccharis salicifolia (Ruiz Pav.) Pers. (Asteraceae). An assessment phylogenetic relationships E. with two congeneric species based mitochondrial DNA provided.
