Coronaviruses (CoVs) are a diverse family of the enveloped human and animal viruses reported as causative agents for respiratory intestinal infections. The high pathogenic potential CoVs, including SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV SARS-CoV-2, is closely related to invasion mechanisms underlying attachment entry viral particles host cells. There increasing evidence that sialylated compounds cellular glycocalyx can serve an important factor in mechanism CoVs infection. Additionally, sialic acid-mediated...

This study tests the hypothesis that facilitation of learning and improvement memory observed after an intracerebroventricular (i.c.v.) injection angiotensin II (Ang II) is, in fact, caused by its derivative IV IV). We ran two as well auxiliary test assessing motor performance rats injected (i.c.v., 1 nmol 2 μl saline) with Ang or IV. There were separate groups receiving peptide saline five, 10 15 minutes before testing. significantly increased step-through latencies a passive avoidance...

Abstract The presented research concerns the preparation of polymer nanoparticles (PNPs) for delivery doxorubicin. Several block and statistical copolymers, composed ketoester derivative, N -isopropylacrylamide, cholesterol, were synthesized. In nanoprecipitation process, doxorubicin (DOX) molecules kept in spatial polymeric systems. DOX-loaded PNPs show high efficacy against estrogen-dependent MCF-7 breast cancer cell lines despite low doses DOX applied good compatibility with normal cells....

Efficient intracellular delivery of a therapeutic compound is an important feature smart drug systems (SDDS). Modification carrier structure with cell-penetrating ligand, ie, cholesterol moiety, strategy to improve cellular uptake. Cholesterol end-capped poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)s offer promising foundation for the design efficient thermoresponsive systems.A series (PNIPAAm) number-average molar masses ranging from 3200 11000 g·mol-1 were synthesized by reversible addition-fragmentation...

The study presents the synthesis of original cholesterol-terminated copolymers comprising acetylacetone-based (AcacI) and N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm) units with a varied arrangement (block random copolymers). nanoprecipitation method was used to form empty doxorubicin-loaded polymeric nanoparticles (PNPs) from these copolymers, which were further studied in terms their physicochemical biological properties. Unexpectedly, it revealed that even PNPs are effective against breast cancer...

Glucocorticosteroids, including dexamethasone (Dex), are commonly used to control tumor-induced edema in the brain tumor patients. There increasing evidences that immunosuppressive action of Dex interferes with immune surveillance resulting lower patients overall survival; however, mechanisms underlying these actions remain unclear. Changes expression sialic acids critical features many cancers reduce their immunogenicity and increase viability. Sialoglycans can be recognized by CD33-related...

Since the role of sialome-Siglec axis has been described as a regulatory checkpoint immune homeostasis, promotion stimulatory or inhibitory Siglec-related mechanisms is crucial in cancer progression and therapy. Here, we investigated effect tamoxifen on sialic acid-Siglec interplay its significance conversion breast cancer. To mimic tumour microenvironment, used oestrogen-dependent oestrogen-independent cells/THP-1 monocytes transwell co-cultures exposed to and/or β-estradiol. We found...
