Changes in terrestrial gross primary productivity (GPP) caused by rapid urbanization may result negative effects on ecosystem services and health. These impacts are of great concern coastal zones where is predominant. Knowing how affects vegetation will be helpful for policymakers to make decisions urban management. In this study, we chose 48 cities along the zone eastern China evaluate GPP. The spatiotemporal comparison was used identify changes built-up lands GPP multiple years (2000,...
Cellular senescence is a stress-induced state of irreversible growth arrest thought to act as barrier cancer development. The p53 tumor suppressor critical mediator and recent in vivo studies have suggested that p53-induced may contribute clearance by the immune system. Recently developed MDM2 antagonists, nutlins, are effective activators potent antitumor agents cells with functional apoptotic pathways. However, they only block cell cycle progression compromised signaling. We use nutlin-3a...
Smartphone addiction has become a public health issue. To help reduce smartphone addiction, we assessed the combined effect of 24-Hour Movement Behaviors on during Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) home confinement in Foshan, China. Data were collected sample 1323 senior middle school students ((mean age ± standard deviation): 16.4 0.9 years; 43.46% males) COVID-19 lockdown. Their movement behaviors by self-reported questionnaire, The Addiction Scale-Short Version (SAS-SV). compositional...
AbstractThe p53 tumor suppressor is a powerful growth suppressive and pro-apoptotic molecule frequently inactivated in human cancer. Many tumors overproduce its negative regulator MDM2, specific ubiquitin ligase transcriptional inhibitor, to disable function. Therefore, activation by inhibiting MDM2 has been proposed as novel strategy for cancer therapy expressing wild-type p53. Recently developed small-molecule p53-MDM2 binding inhibitors, the nutlins, selectively activate function induce...
Vegetation in urban settings is heavily altered by anthropogenic impacts. However, the impacts of urbanization on vegetation are not well understood. Here, we quantified 48 Chinese coastal cities and explored their dynamic characteristics from 1990 to 2015. The indirect at different spatial temporal scales were also determined. Remote-sensing-based results indicated that conditions decreased significantly as proportion built-up land increased. difference between observed decline trend...
The p53 tumor suppressor plays a key role in induction and maintenance of cellular senescence but p53-regulated response to stress senescent cells is poorly understood. Here, we use the small-molecule MDM2 antagonist, nutlin-3a, selectively activate probe functionality pathway human fibroblasts, WI-38. Our experiments revealed overall reduction nutlin-induced transcriptional activity nine target genes four microRNAs, indicating that not only protein levels also its ability transcription are...
Attachment of chromosomes to the mitotic spindle has been proposed require dynamic microtubules that randomly search three-dimensional space and become stabilized upon capture by kinetochores. In this study, we test model examining chromosome in Saccharomyces cerevisiae mutants with attenuated microtubule dynamics. Although viable, these cells are slow progress through mitosis. Preanaphase contain a high proportion attached only one pole missegregate absence assembly checkpoint. Measurement...
Abstract Background Long non‐coding RNA (lncRNA) plays an essential role in hepatitis B virus‐related hepatocellular carcinoma (HBV‐related HCC) occurrence and development. Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) may affect HBV‐related HCC susceptibility by altering the function of lncRNA. However, relationship between lncRNA SNPs development is still unclear. Methods In present study, based on genome‐wide association studies, eight potentially functional from two lncRNAs were predicted using a...
Abstract A global outbreak of monkeypox (mpox) caused by the mpox virus (MPXV) has posed a serious threat to public health worldwide, thus calling for urgent development antivirals and vaccines curb its further spread. In this study, we screened 41 anhydride‐modified proteins found that 3‐hydroxyphthalic β‐lactoglobulin (3HP‐β‐LG), clinically used anti‐HPV agent, was highly effective in inhibiting infection vaccinia Tiantan strain (VACV‐VTT) MPXV. Mechanistic studies demonstrated 3HP‐β‐LG...
Substantial evidence links physical activity and sedentary behaviour (SB) with cardiovascular health. However, studies usually examine time-use behaviours independently, rather than considering daily activities as a 24-hour composition. This study aimed to use compositional data models investigate how time reallocations from SB moderate-to-vigorous (MVPA)/ light (LPA) were associated changes in cardiometabolic biomarkers. Compositional isotemporal substitution analysis was conducted using...
Abstract Small-molecule inhibitors of p53-MDM2 binding, the nutlins, can free p53 from MDM2 control and effectively activate its growth suppressive pro-apoptotic activity in cancer cells (Vassilev et al., Science, 2004, 303, 844). Optimized members this family molecules are currently under clinical investigation as novel therapeutic modality for cancers expressing wild-type p53. We have shown previously that antagonists most effective overproduce a result mdm2 gene amplification (Tovar PNAS,...
