Memory loss, synaptic dysfunction, and accumulation of amyloid β-peptides (Aβ) are major hallmarks Alzheimer9s disease (AD). Downregulation the nitric oxide/cGMP/cGMP-dependent protein kinase/c-AMP responsive element-binding (CREB) cascade has been linked to deficits after Aβ elevation. Here, we report that phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitor (PDE5) sildenafil (Viagra), a molecule enhances phosphorylation CREB, involved in memory, through elevation cGMP levels, is beneficial against AD phenotype...

Abstract Diabetic cardiomyopathy is a primary myocardial injury induced by diabetes with complex pathogenesis. In this study, we identify disordered cardiac retinol metabolism in type 2 diabetic male mice and patients characterized overload, all-trans retinoic acid deficiency. By supplementing or acid, demonstrate that both overload deficiency promote cardiomyopathy. Mechanistically, constructing cardiomyocyte-specific conditional dehydrogenase 10-knockout overexpressing 10 via...

Background: Little is known about the pathophysiological diversity of myocardial injury in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), but analyzing these differences important for accurate diagnosis and precise treatment diabetic cardiomyopathy. This study aimed to elucidate key cardiac between obese non-obese T2DM from mice humans. Methods: Obese mouse models were successfully constructed observed until systolic dysfunction occurred. Changes structure, function, energy metabolism oxidative stress...

As a biological pump, the heart needs to consume substantial amount of energy maintain sustained beating. Myocardial metabolism was recently reported be related loss proliferative capacity in cardiomyocytes (CMs). However, intrinsic relationship between beating rate and proliferation CMs whether can regulate this remains unclear. In study, we find that moderate reduction (HRR) induces CM under physiological conditions promotes cardiac regenerative repair after myocardial injury....

Pearl millet (Pennisetum americanum (L.) K. Schum) has been proven as a potential remediation plant of the pollution caused by atrazine. Plants used in can release root exudates to communicate with rhizosphere microorganisms and accelerate removal pollutants soil. However, response pearl under atrazine stress remained unclear. In this study, hydroponic experiments were conducted at Northeast Agricultural University, Harbin, China, investigate oxidative changes composition plants that exposed...

A novel microfluidic flow rate detection method based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR) temperature imaging is proposed. The measurement performed by space-resolved SPR of the induced variations. Theoretical simulations and analysis were to demonstrate a proof concept using this approach. Experiments implemented results showed that water rates within wide range tens hundreds μL/min could be detected. sensor resistant disturbances can easily integrated into lab-on-chip systems.
