To utilize the excellent properties of silica (SiO2) glass for a laser host, neodymium-aluminum (Nd–Al) and neodymium-phosphorous (Nd–P) co-doped SiO2 glasses were studied. They prepared by plasma-torch chemical vapor deposition (CVD). It was found that doping level less than ten times number Nd Al co-dopant about fifteen P enough to remove undesirable fluorescence Nd-doped make them suitable application. The clustering ions disperse well in matrix lasing increases. effects dopant on density...

It is widely accepted that dorsal striatum neurons participate in either the direct pathway (expressing dopamine D1 receptors) or indirect D2 receptors), controlling voluntary movements an antagonistically balancing manner. The D1- and D2-expressing are activated inactivated, respectively, by released from substantia nigra encoding reward expectation. However, little known about functional representation of motor information its modulation individual striatal constituting two pathways. In...

Abstract The heats of sublimation a series condensed polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons, 1rom anthracene (C14) to violanthrene (C34), were measured. It has been found that there is an additivity in the inner among these compounds, i. e., as number carbon atoms each molecule increases by one, heat 1.51 kcal./mole.

Cerium‐activated silica (SiO 2 ) glasses were prepared by plasma torch chemical vapor deposition (CVD). In Ce‐doped SiO glasses, most Ce exists as 4+ ions; the remaining small amount of 3+ ions exhibits a broad fluorescence spectrum with large Stokes shift, ∼9600 cm ‐1 , from excitation peak 324 nm. Aluminum and phosphorus codoping considerably increases ratio shifts peaks both spectra to shorter wavelengths. P is more effective way achieve this result in some cases produces an absorption...

A DNA fragment possessing ORF12 of TL-DNA Ri(A4) plasmids (Slightom et al. 1986) was inserted into the genome Nicotiana tabacum cv. Petite Havana SR1, through binary vector system harbored by Agrobacterium tumefaciens. The transformed plants showed dwarfness in plant height and corolla length. Adventitious roots were not induced from leaf disks A. tumefaciens ORF12.

Stems of genus Dendrobium (Orchidaceae) have been traditionally used as an herbal medicine (Dendrobii Herba) in Eastern Asia. Although demand for is increasing rapidly, wild resources are decreasing due to over-collection. This study aimed identify plant sources Dendrobii Herba on the market based sequences internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions nuclear ribosomal DNA. We constructed ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 sequence database 196 species, and was employed 21 samples. found that 13 species (D....

Phylogenetic relationships within Clematis, including Naravelia, Archiclematis and Clematopsis, were analysed using nucleotide sequences of chloroplast DNA [(1) matK trnK introns; (2) atpB–rbcL spacer; (3) rpoB–trnC (4) psbA–trnH–trnQ (5) rbcL–accD spacer] the nuclear ITS regions. The phylogenetic trees resulting from these analyses suggested nine major clades. genera Archiclematis, Naravelia Clematopsis found to be nested genus should included it.
