Herein, we have developed an efficient tungsten-catalyzed homogeneous system for oxidative dehydrogenative coupling of anilines to selectively produce various azoaromatics and azoxyaromatics as well 2-substituted indolone N-oxides by simply regulating the reaction solvent with peroxide a terminal oxidant under additive-free conditions. These findings provide experimental framework exploring tungsten catalysis in organic synthesis offer convenient tactic selective oxidation anilines.
Hydroxylation of a monomeric triphenylphosphine-cyclopalladated ferrocenylchloropyrimidine [PdCl{[(η5-C5H5)]Fe[(η5-C5H3)-N2C4H2-Cl]}(PPh3)] with KOH gave the first example tetranuclear cluster monophosphine-palladacycle [Pd{[(η5-C5H5)]Fe[(η5-C5H3)-N2C4H2O]}(PPh3)]4. An efficient PPh3-cyclometalated iridium(III) benzo[h]quinoline hydride 1/Pd(OAc)2-cocatalyzed three-component α-alkylation/Suzuki reaction has been developed. The of 4-bromobenzyl alcohol, acetylferrocene, and arylboronic acids gives ferrocenyl ketones containing biaryls in moderate to good yields. This method was successfully applied a one-pot synthesis 6-aryl-2-ferrocenyl quinolines, using (2-amino-5-bromophenyl)methanol instead alcohol.
