Melanoma clinical outcomes emerge from incompletely understood genetic mechanisms operating within the tumor and its microenvironment. Here, we used single-cell RNA-based spatial molecular imaging (RNA-SMI) in patient-derived archival tumors to reveal clinically relevant markers of malignancy progression prognosis. We examined gene expression 203,472 cells inside benign malignant melanocytic neoplasms, including nevi primary invasive metastatic melanomas. Algorithmic cell clustering paired...

Abstract Background A eukaryotic cell's primary cilium (PC) is critical for cell signaling, migration and homeostasis. Primary dysfunction has been demonstrated in several malignancies, but whether cilia loss occurs acral melanoma remained unknown. To address this, we examined the ciliation index (% melanocytes containing a PC) of patient‐derived, biopsy‐proven compared these to benign nevi. Methods We generated pilot initiative study that included six melanomas seven nevi derived from foot....

Sebaceous carcinoma (SBC) is a rare malignant tumour of sebocytes that commonly presents as nodule on the eyelid. It considered an aggressive skin cancer has potential to metastasise; therefore, early diagnosis critical for survival. The histopathology SBC can mimic other neoplasms, including basal cell (BCC) and squamous carcinoma, making challenging in subset cases.1 Therefore, finding effective specific marker SBCs aid earlier more accurate diagnosis. Normal sebaceous glands stain...

When I began medical school, was surprised by the frequent use of mnemonics as memory tools in classroom and clinic. intrigued idea that these are passed on, formally informally, from one generation students to next a rite passage. However, tickled unique sometimes ridiculous wording certain mnemonics, like “SAD PUCKER”; “canned soup, really good cans”; “a lady between two majors”; “to Zanzibar motor car, please!” wonder if could also serve inspiration for whimsical illustration, color...

Mnemonics help memorization via cognitive mechanisms that are incompletely understood; their use within medical culture is prolific and can be traced back hundreds to thousands of years.1,2 Although most mnemonics utilize letter- or word-based creative modalities, (eg, acronyms, initialisms, rhyme, play on words), other visual rely physical props, including the human body.3 Here, we appreciate a mnemonic uses hand represent spinal nerve contributions brachial plexus, which has clinical...

ABSTRACT Fertilisation triggers embryonic development culminating with the activation of a number highly co-ordinated and evolutionarily conserved signalling pathways, which induce pattern mesoderm developing embryo. Previous studies in invertebrates have shown that hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O ), reactive oxygen species (ROS), can act as molecule for axis specification during early development. Using HyPer transgenic Xenopus laevis line expresses H -sensitive fluorescent protein sensor...
