Abstract Objective Behçet's disease ( BD ) is a chronic, relapsing, inflammatory vascular with no pathognomonic test. Low sensitivity of the currently applied International Study Group ISG clinical diagnostic criteria led to their reassessment. Methods An Team for Revision Criteria (from 27 countries) submitted data from 2556 clinically diagnosed patients and 1163 controls ‐mimicking diseases or presenting at least one major sign. These were randomly divided into training validation sets....

Pleomorphic dermal sarcomas (PDS) are frequent UV-induced of the skin intermediate grade malignant potential. Despite fact that PDS have a noteworthy potential to recur (up 28%) as well metastasize 20%), there no specific clinical guidelines with respect follow-up these patients. Moreover, little is known about clinical, histological or molecular prognostic factors in PDS.The aim present study was identify risk predict relapse large multicentre sample cohort which could aid optimize...

Metallothioneins (MT) are ubiquitous, intracellular small proteins with high affinity for heavy metal ions. In the last decades, it was shown that MT overexpression in a variety of cancers is associated resistance to anticancer drugs and combined poor prognosis. this prospective study, we examined role melanoma patients as prognostic factor progression survival. Between 1993 2004, 3386 primary cutaneous were investigated by using monoclonal antibody against on routinely fixed,...

Aims: Necrobiosis lipoidica (NL) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with unknown aetiology. The aim was to determine the presence of spirochaetal microorganisms in NL. Methods and results: Focus‐floating microscopy (FFM) modified immunohistochemical technique that developed detect borrelial spirochaetes within tissue sections. It has proven be more sensitive for detection than polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Fifty‐six cases NL as well 44 negative 33 positive controls were investigated...

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection causes not only acute and chronic liver disease, but also extrahepatic symptoms. To our knowledge, this is the first case report of a patient who developed simultaneously subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus small CD20+ B-cell clone because HCV relapse after standard care therapy (pegylated interferon plus ribavirin). Treatment with rituximab, chimeric anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody, was successful.

Currently there are no laboratory markers that correlate well with the clinical findings in BD. Therefore assessment of disease activity has to be based on history features. There have been several attempts develop measurements: (1) scheme use by H Yazici (1984; evaluation depends features found day patient attends clinic); (2) Iranian Behcet's Dynamic Measure (IBDDAM; F Davatchi 1991; accurate symptoms up 12 months prior date assessment); and (3) European (1991; initially developed UK...

Background/Aims: Tumor response to radiation is thought depend on the direct killing of tumor cells. Our laboratory has called this into question. Firstly, we showed that biology host, specifically endothelial expression acid sphingomyelinase (ASMase), was critical in determining radiocurability. Secondly, have shown immune system can enhance by allowing a complete control hemi-irradiated tumors. In paper, focus integration these two findings. Methods: We used Lewis Lung Carcinoma (LLC)...
