We evaluated long-term outcomes in boys treated for hypospadias at Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne.Boys who underwent surgery were reviewed ages 13 to 15 years. Surgical results using the Hypospadias Objective Scoring Evaluation. Lower urinary tract function was assessed uroflowmetry and symptom questionnaire. Self-report surveys measured quality of life, patient satisfaction, memory surgery, psychosexual parent satisfaction with care.By Evaluation score 80% patients had an excellent...

Abstract Purpose To evaluate feasibility and outcomes of minimally invasive surgery (MIS) in Wilms tumor (WT). Methods International multicenter review MIS total nephrectomies for WT between 2006 2018. Medical records confirmed were retrospectively assessed demographic, imaging, treatment, pathology, oncological outcome data. Results Fifty patients, with a median age 38 months (6‐181), included 10 centers. All patients received neoadjuvant chemotherapy, as per SIOP protocol. Median volume...

We present preliminary stone ablation rate results from an automated bench model using two pulse-modulated Ho:YAG lasers and a thulium fibre laser (TFL) in contact non-contact modes. Ablation was assessed apparatus that moved the across flat BegoStone phantoms at constant stone-to-fibre working distance (WD). Pre-soaked unsoaked stones were used. A range of powers (20-60 W) tested WD up to 3 mm. In pseudocontact, prototype produced higher than reference all (p < 0.002), TFL 20 W 40 0.001)....

The ideal treatment of large full-thickness chondral lesions in the knee, especially "kissing lesions" and osteoarthritis, has not been determined. Microdrilling surgery augmented with injections peripheral blood stem cells hyaluronic acid used to treat patients a wide range articular cartilage disease including bipolar joint space narrowing. Excellent results this difficult patient population have reported, second-look biopsy shown repair tissue very similar native hyaline cartilage....

Background Circumcision is the most common surgical procedure performed on boys in A ustralia. Patient presentations to emergency department ( ED ) following circumcision are common; however, no Australian research has investigated acute care presentations. Objectives To identify reasons for presentation after and determine whether setting (community vs. hospital) which had been any bearing sequelae seen. Methods Retrospective chart review of children presenting with related problems R oyal...

Laser lithotripsy has clinically been implemented to treat urinary stone disease by using a Ho:YAG laser system. Bubble dynamics plays an important role in determining ablation efficiency. The current study developed two-phase opto-thermal model numerically assess the bubble during irradiation. simulation involved light propagation, and water interaction, multi-phase heat mass transfer. was verified experimental setup including lasers, fiber water, high-speed camera. Both numerical...
