The aim of this study was to describe epidemiological characteristics and perform SARS-CoV-2 genomic surveillance in the southeastern region São Paulo State. During first months 2022, we compared weekly infection prevalence considering age, Ct value, variants’ lineages. An increase number SARS-CoV-2-positive cases until fourth week 2022 observed. From onwards, tests for diagnosis began decrease, but positive samples remained high, reaching its most expressive level with a rate 60% infected...

From a country with one of the highest SARS-CoV-2 morbidity and mortality rates, Brazil has implemented most successful vaccination programs. Brazil’s first model city program was performed by CoronaVac vaccine (Sinovac Biotech) in town Serrana, São Paulo State. To evaluate effect on molecular dynamics clinical outcomes, we surveillance 4375 complete genomes obtained between June 2020 April 2022 this location. This study included period initial introduction during process. We observed that...

Abstract Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is a leading cause of acute hepatitis worldwide. The acquired by fecal‐oral route; however, it can also be transmitted blood transfusion. objective the study was to examine anti‐HEV immunoglobulin G and HEV RNA prevalence in multiple transfused patients with thalassemia sickle cell disease (SCD), donors. seroprevalence 13% (20% thalassemics; 7.7% SCD), 11% No positive result for obtained. This pioneer examining circulation Brazilian hemoglobinopathies.

Bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells (BM-MSCs) are key elements of the hematopoietic niche and participate in regulatory mechanisms stem (HSCs). Hematological diseases can affect MSCs their functions. However, dysregulations caused by sickle cell disease (SCD) not fully elucidated. This work explored changes BM-MSCs relationship with age using mice (Townes-SS). were isolated from Townes-SS, control groups 30- 60-day-old Townes-AA C57BL/6 J. The showed no morphological differences culture...
