This paper summarizes the operational experience of ion cyclotron resonant frequency (ICRF) ITER-like antenna on JET aiming at substantially increasing power density in range requirements for ITER combined with load resiliency. An in-depth description its commissioning, aspects and achieved performances is presented.
The paper summarizes the continuous developments made to ion cyclotron resonant frequency (ICRF) system at JET in order improve reliability of power coupled plasma. It details changes and improvements so that more is during ELMy plasmas as well increasing density demonstrate reliable operation range requirements for ITER. Results obtained using conventional matching (stubs trombones) system, 3 dB couplers conjugate-T scheme with variable elements outside wave launching structure (external...
A load-tolerant External Conjugate-T (ECT) impedance matching system for two A2 Ion Cyclotron Resonance Heating (ICRH) antennas has been successfully put into operation at JET.The allows continuous injection of the RF power plasma in presence strong antenna loading perturbations caused by Edge Localized Modes (ELMs).Reliable ECT performance demonstrated under a variety conditions including H-mode plasmas with Radial Outer Gaps (ROG) range 4-14 cm.The high resilience to ELMs predicted during...
Radio frequency (RF) heating experiments have recently been conducted in JET (3He)–H plasmas. This type of plasmas will be used ITER's non-activated operation phase. Whereas a companion paper this same PPCF issue discuss the RF scenario's at half nominal magnetic field, documents performance full with fundamental cyclotron 3He as only possible ion scheme view foreseen ITER antenna bandwidth. Dominant electron global efficiencies between 30% and 70% depending on concentration were observed...
In the past years, one of focal points JET experimental programme was on ion-cyclotron resonance heating (ICRH) studies in view design and exploitation ICRH system being developed for ITER. this brief review, some main achievements obtained field during last 5 years will be summarized. The results reported here include important aspects a more engineering nature, such as (i) appropriate RF feeding circuits optimal load resilient operation (ii) test compact high-power density antenna array,...
The need for information literacy continues to increase as colleges and universities begin globalize their curricula include global readiness in institutional missions. This article reports pretest posttest data collected during a librarian–faculty collaboration determine the effect of instruction on students participating an anthropology class focused understanding. results suggest emphasis teaching specific skills can produce students’ levels. Also, emerging may provide avenue librarians...

Purpose This paper seeks to provide a solution for teaching comprehensive information literacy instruction when time is limited during one‐shot library sessions. It aims focus on one technique solve this dilemma – the creation of multi‐media tutorial: Library 101: Introduction Research. The educate librarians many technological tools, which could be employed enrich instruction. Design/methodology/approach Using Oakleaf Information Literacy Instruction Assessment Cycle (ILIAC), gathered...

To meet the needs of rigorous educational programs, academic libraries must make a commitment to serve growing distance education (DE) populations. Students who participate in are typically older, nontraditional students with unique characteristics need special services provided by their university library order obtain an equal on-campus counterparts. Creating successful reference and instructional service for not only takes planning, collaboration, assessment, but also requires knowing your...
Two ion cyclotron range of frequencies (ICRF) heating schemes proposed for the half-field operation phase ITER in hydrogen plasmas—fundamental H majority and second harmonic 3He ICRF heating—were recently investigated JET. Although same magnetic field RF (f ≈ 42 MHz f 52 MHz, respectively) were used, density particularly plasma temperature lower than those expected initial ITER. Unlike well-performing minority scheme to be used 4He plasmas, modest efficiencies (η = Pabsorbed/Plaunched < 40%)...
The commissioning of the ITER‐Like ICRF Antenna (ILA) [1] on JET plasmas from May 2008 to April 2009 in various conditions (33, 42 and 47 MHz, L‐ H‐mode, antenna strap‐plasma separatrix distances ∼9 17 cm) has provided relevant information for future design operation. maximum power density achieved was 6.2 MW/m2 L‐mode with strap plasma distance ∼9–10 cm at MHz lower half ILA extrapolating 8 if full generator had been available. Efficient (trip‐free operation) ELM tolerance obtained both 33...
Purpose The primary aim of this study is to determine the uses and prevalence temporary librarians in libraries at four‐year universities during current economic downturn. paper also seeks librarians' conditions employment. Design/methodology/approach These objectives were achieved by surveying a representative sample institutions both authors' state nationwide. Findings found that, as several previous surveys, are still being used sparingly. They fill vacancies due open positions or faculty...
Since 2020, the higher education landscape has been in a drastic state of flux. From ramping up efforts around diversity, equity, inclusion to scaling back these same due new policies and laws, from implementing health safety measures wake pandemic again rolling back, shifting teaching learning into an online setting bringing it in-person varying degrees, academic libraries have constant change. In addition aforementioned shifts occurring, other significant issues are facing colleges North...

The performance of ICRF systems are often degraded by ELMS. transient increase in coupling increases VSWR at the generator, which may trip/crowbar generator. JET plan to insert a tuned length 105 ohm line into 30 between antenna and existing stub. At four discrete frequencies, change load can then be tracked frequency maintain low system will accept range 2–10 ohms, requiring electrical set within few centimetres, scan 300 kHz with millisecond response time.
