Using proteomics, we aimed to reveal molecular types of human atherosclerotic lesions and study their associations with histology, imaging, cardiovascular outcomes.
Interleukin (IL-33) and the ST2 receptor are implicated in pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. Soluble (sST2), which negatively regulates IL-33 signaling, is an established biomarker coronary artery disease heart failure.
