We present the final installment of an intensive 13 year study variations optical continuum and broad Hβ emission line in Seyfert 1 galaxy NGC 5548. The database consists 1530 measurements 1248 measurements. follow closely, with a typical time delay about 20 days. However, year-by-year analysis shows that magnitude emission-line is correlated mean flux. argue data are consistent simple model prediction between size broad-line region ionizing luminosity, r ∝ L. Moreover, apparently linear...
Results of a ground-based optical monitoring campaign on 3C 390.3 in 1994-95 are presented. The broad-band fluxes (B, V, R, and I), the spectrophotometric continuum flux F(5177) integrated emission-line Ha, Hb, Hg, HeI, HeII all show nearly monotonic increase with episodes milder short-term variations superposed. amplitude increases decreasing wavelength (4400-9000 A). follow ultraviolet X-ray time delays, measured from centroids cross- correlation functions, typically around 5 days, but...
As part of an extensive multiwavelength monitoring campaign, the International Ultraviolet Explorer satellite was used to observe broad-line radio galaxy 3C 390.3 during period 1994 December 31-1996 March 5. Spectra were obtained every 6-10 days. The UV continuum varied by a factor 7 through while broad emission lines factors 2-5. Unlike previously monitored Seyfert 1 galaxies, in which X-ray generally varies with larger amplitude than UV, light curve is similar both and shape observed...
OJ 287 is one of the best studied blazars. It also a prime target in our long-term blazar monitoring program carried out with 1.56 m telescope at Sheshan Station Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, China. Here, we present optical photometry results V, R, and I passbands BL Lacertae object (0851+202) from 2002 January to 2007 February. The largest variations ΔV = 1.96 mag (14.01–15.97 mag), ΔR 2.36 (13.39–15.75 ΔI 1.95 (12.79–14.74 mag) were detected observations. Intraday variation timescales...
The quasar 3C 273 is one of the widely studied quasars that also a selected target in our monitoring program. In this paper, we present optical V, R, and I photometric observations done with 1.56 m telescope at Shanghai Astronomical Observatory from 2000 to 2008. Our results show 1118 sets (258 for V band, 414 R 446 band). indicate (1) variations three bands are ΔV = 1.363 ± 0.088 mag 12.204 0.062 13.567 0.062, ΔR 1.299 0.023 12.014 0.014 13.313 0.013, ΔI 1.041 11.628 0.046 12.669 0.075....
Lichens are of great ecological importance but mechanisms regulating lichen symbiosis not clear. Umbilicaria muhlenbergii is a lichen-forming fungus amenable to molecular manipulations and dimorphic. Here, we established conditions conducive symbiotic interactions differentiation showed the UMP1 MAP kinase in development. In initial biofilm-like complexes, algal cells were interwoven with pseudohyphae covered extracellular matrix. After longer incubation, fungal-algal complexes further...
Mid-infrared images of the Seyfert 1 galaxy Mrk 279 obtained with ISO satellite are presented together results a one-year monitoring campaign 2.5-11.7 μm spectrum. Contemporaneous optical photometric and spectrophotometric observations also presented. The appears as point-like source at resolution ISOCAM instrument (4-5″). average spectrum nucleus in shows strong power law continuum () weak PAH emission features. spectral energy distribution mid-IR bump, which extends from 2 to 15-20 μm....
Abstract Soil salinization is a major environmental threat to the entire terrestrial ecosystem. Lichens arose from symbiosis of fungi and algae or cyanobacteria. They have high tolerance various extreme environments, including adaptation saline‐alkali habitats. Thus, lichens are pioneer species on soil. However, separate resilience two symbiotic partners under conditions remains insufficiently understood. In this study, representative algae, Diplosphaera chodatii Trebouxia jamesii , were...
We present the optical (V, R, and I) photometry for BL Lacertae, which was observed from 1997 through 1999, with 1.56-m telescope at Shanghai astronomical observatory (SHAO). After outburst, it dimmed to a low state then brightened again. During period JD 2450701 2450701.5, variations of 0.40mag, 0.27mag, 0.21mag over time scale 100 minutes were found V, I bands, suggesting that decreasing wavelength. The correlation between is also analyzed using DCF (Discrete Correlation Function) method....
Abstract The voids in fibers, especially wet spun fibers are a major factor of fiber structure which greatly affects the properties. A lot research has shown that inner and surface imperfections were main causes strength decreases. Therefore it is very important to determine void morphology development processing order obtain high quality as-spun fiber. In this paper we introduce new method for determination using small angle x-ray scattering with spline function average size, size...
Abstract We present a simulation based on the morphology of inner coma comet Hale-Bopp(C/1995 O1) in February 1997. The synthetic images can fit observations well, suggesting simple spin mode. rotation parameters, obliquity orbital plane to equator and argument subsolar meridian at perihelion, are 71 81 degrees respectively.
Abstract This paper briefly introduces the program, equipment and results of monitoring AGNs carried out at Shanghai Astronomical Observatory.
