To investigate the efficacy and mechanisms of human umbilical cord-derived MSC-derived extracellular vesicles (hucMSC-EVs) in a mouse model desiccation-induced dry eye disease (DED).hucMSC-EVs were enriched by ultracentrifugation. The DED was induced desiccating environment combined with scopolamine administration. mice divided into hucMSC-EVs group, fluorometholone (FML) PBS blank control group. Tear secretion, corneal fluorescein staining, cytokine profiles tears goblet cells,...

Purpose: Bacterial keratitis (BK) is a serious ocular infection that can cause severe inflammation and corneal scarring, leading to vision loss. In this study, we aimed investigate the involvement of ferroptosis in pathogenesis BK. Methods: Transcriptome analysis was performed evaluate ferroptosis-related gene expression human BK corneas. Subsequently, mouse models Pseudomonas aeruginosa stromal stem cells (CSSCs) were validated. The mice treated with levofloxacin (LEV) or combined...

Single-port video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) technique has been used for diseases. There was no report about single-port VATS in large series. Outcomes following were analysed to determine its efficacy and safety. From June 2012 2014, 1063 VATSs performed by four surgeons. Patient demographics, perioperative parameters, histopathology outcomes analysed. patients (524 men 539 women). The median age 56.1 ± 8.7 years (range, 15–86 years). Lobectomy 569 patients, segmentectomy 162, wedge...

Purpose: Fungal keratitis (FK) is a serious corneal infection with high morbidity. Host immune responses function as double-edged sword by eradicating fungal pathogens while also causing damage, dictating the severity, progression, and outcome of FK. However, underlying immunopathogenesis remains elusive. Methods: Time-course transcriptome was performed to illustrate dynamic landscape in mouse model Integrated bioinformatic analyses included identification differentially expressed genes,...

A new type of diarylprolinol-based catalyst, which contains a dioctylamino group in the presence newly developed ionic liquid supported (ILS) benzoic acid as cocatalyst, is shown to be an effective catalytic system for asymmetric direct crossed-aldol reaction acetaldehyde aqueous media using brine. For reactions studied, catalyst loading could reduced 5 mol %; high yields (up 97%) and enantioselectivities 92% ee) were also achieved wide variety aromatic aldehyde.

Background and objective As computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer becomes more common in China, so too does detection of pulmonary ground-glass nodules (GGNs). Although anumber national or international guidelines about GGNs have been published, most these are produced by respiratory, oncology radiology physicians, who might not fully understand the progress modern minimal invasive thoracic surgery, current may overlook underestimate value surgery management GGNs. In addition,...

The limbal niche supports the self-renewal of epithelial stem cells (LESCs). corneal stromal cell (CSSC) is an important component in that regulates LESC phenotype. However, intercellular communication between LESCs and CSSCs has yet to be elucidated.A traditional two-dimensional (2D) system, a direct three-dimensional (3D) indirect 3D coculture system were used elucidate paracrine pathway effect on LESCs.
