Introduction The use of contemporary drug-eluting stents (DES) has significantly improved outcomes patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) undergoing percutaneous intervention (PCI). However, concerns exist regarding the long-term proinflammatory effects durable polymer coatings used in most DES, potentially leading to adverse events. First-generation polymer-free stent technologies, such as sirolimus- and probucol-eluting (PF-SES), have shown an excellent safety efficacy profile. aim...

Survival of heterotopic allo- and xenografts was studied in a primate cardiac transplantation model. Initially, animals were presensitized to donor xenoantigens by blood transfusion treated with strategies designed elicit pretransplant immunosuppression. These underwent rapid rejection whether ciclosporin conventional immunosuppression, autologous sera, sensitized lymphocytes, or photochemotherapy. In nonsensitized xenograft study, maintained for prolonged periods combination All...

In patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), the presence of a low-flow, low-gradient (LFLG) status has been associated with higher mortality at short-term follow-up.

A 75 year old man with an eight month history of dysphagia and weight loss underwent pericardiocentesis for a massive pericardial effusion. The echocardiogram showed mass in the left atrium, computed tomography also distal oesophageal narrowing, which was found to be due malignant melanoma. atrial mass, investigated by immunoscintigraphy technetium-99m labelled monoclonal antibody, diagnosed as metastatic This represents rare case primary melanoma metastasis.

Total anomalous left pulmonary venous connection with intact atrial septum is an extremely rare form of congenital heart disease. We describe a case never reported before in which the veins drained directly into right atrium through common vein. Surgical correction was successfully obtained by redirecting blood flow newly created septal defect using gluteraldehyde-treated autologous pericardial patch. Follow-up at 6 months shows no signs any complication.

Isolated coronary ostial stenosis is an unusual condition, most often atherosclerotic in origin. Only few cases have been reported as idiopathic. The clinical profile of the latter patients suggests that this group may represent a distinct entity, with peculiar diagnostic and therapeutic features. We present our experience concerning six isolated idiopathic stenosis, who successfully underwent transaortic left main ostioplasty autologous pericardial patch fixed glutaraldehyde. A review...

Abstract Fulminant myocarditis (MF) is an acute onset, rapidly progressive and potentially fatal inflammatory cardiomyopathy which could manifests with cardiogenic shock incessant arrhythmias. There often a need for aminic or mechanical support to the circulation in phase, waiting obtain histological diagnosis as quickly possible establish specific therapy. Mortality phases high, worse prognosis than other forms of presentation myocarditis, even long term. We report case 45–year–old Asian...
