Abstract MicroRNAs act as post-transcriptional regulators, and urinary exosome (UExo)-derived microRNAs may be used biomarkers. Herein, we screened for UExo-derived reflecting kidney disease (KD) status in dogs. Examined dogs were divided into healthy control (HC) KD groups according to renal dysfunction. We confirmed the appearance of UExo having irregular globe-shapes a dog by immunoblot detection markers, TSG101 CD9. Based on our previous data using model mice obtained herein next...

Increased incidence of kidney disease (KD) is a common concern in human and companion animals. Cats, particular, are highly susceptible to KD. Novel KD biomarkers would help address these problems. Therefore, we focusing on microRNA, conserved nucleic acid, as biomarker for various We previously reported that altered levels urinary exosome (UExo)-derived microRNAs indicate renal pathologies dogs. This study comprehensively examined UExo-derived microRNAs, which reflected the status cats. The...

A 12-year-old spayed female cat, presented with a subcutaneous mass on the right forelimb and was diagnosed extramedullary plasmacytoma base biopsy. Blood chemistry normal, cat underwent limb amputation for tumor resection. Histopathology confirmed plasmacytoma, revealing also axillary lymph node metastases. Adjuvant chemotherapy melphalan prednisolone started 11 days post-surgery, but discontinued 12 later due to development of nonregenerative anemia, severe thrombocytopenia, neutropenia....

Purpose: Thrombin inhibits cadherin on vascular endothelial cells, rapidly and reversibly increasing permeability. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the feasibility trans-arterial infusion with thrombin. Material methods: Ten rabbits right thigh tumor were randomly divided into two groups: A thrombin group a control group. In group, suspension (300 IU), cisplatin (3 mg), lipiodol (0.3 ml) iopamidol infused femoral artery. cisplatin, infused. Platinum concentrations in plasma measured...

To describe the surgical technique for extravesicular, two-layer, side-to-side ureteroneocystostomy combined with tension-relieving techniques (ETSUTT) feline proximal ureteral obstruction and report clinical outcomes.Retrospective case series.Ten privately-owned cats near ureteropelvic junction (UPJ).Medical records were retrospectively reviewed close to UPJ that underwent ETSUTT (2018-2021). The procedure consisted of a modified extravesicular (two-layer, ureteroneocystostomy) (renal...
