Abstract Mutations in actin-bundling protein plastin 3 (PLS3) emerged as a cause of congenital osteoporosis, but neither the role PLS3 bone development nor mechanisms underlying PLS3-dependent osteoporosis are understood. Of over 20 identified osteoporosis-linked mutations, we investigated all five that expected to produce full-length protein. One mutations distorted an actin-binding loop second domain and abolished F-actin bundling revealed by cryo-EM reconstruction interaction assays....
Families of children at the worst end congenital heart disease endure a significant burden which is often not clearly delineated in clinical literature. We examined greatest concerns parents whose have Fontan circulation.Parents (N = 107) Australian and New Zealand Registry completed online surveys with open-ended closed questions. A qualitative method approach incorporating thematic analyses was used. The for child circulation were centered on fear death their psychosocial well-being,...
The compound helicopter has much to offer as a means of expanding the flight envelope rotorcraft. There have been significant amounts research performed, albeit disjointed, and many demonstrator helicopters produced trialled since end Second World War mainly with aim increasing helicopter's maximum forward speed. This paper aims pool this knowledge, along relevant developments in other fields, not only state current level understanding configuration but also use it predict likely...
Abstract Compounding offers a way of advancing the performance standard helicopter significantly for moderate increase in complexity through addition wings and/or auxiliary propulsion. The compound configuration has potential advantages increased speed, range, agility, productivity and reduced vibration levels over conventional helicopters. Despite several significant efforts, however, no ever been put into production. This paper looks at three aircraft that came close to being accepted by...
