Up to now, several different timetables have been proposed for thoron (220Rn) measurements by using the Lucas scintillation cell. In this study, based on measuring principle, uncertainty of was theoretically studied a self-developed simulation program. The results showed that timetable 1-min consecutive counting lasted 10 times an optimal routine 220Rn measurements. Compared with previously timetables, new could reduce >19 %.

The removal of radioactive gaseous iodine is crucial for sustainable nuclear energy development, safe spent fuel management, and secure disposal waste medical waste. However, the efficient capture iodine, particularly methyl iodide, under conditions low concentration high-flow rate that are representative real-world scenarios remains underexplored. Herein, we adopted a "theory-first" strategy to design adsorbents with superior affinity iodide. rigorous theoretical calculations both...

For accurate measurements of 220Rn concentration with airflow-through scintillation cell method, a theoretical study was performed for discussing the influences sampling flow rate, volumes tube and on measurements. It is found that high rate large inner volume as well small are not only preferable measuring low levels 220Rn, but also helpful enhancing measurement accuracy. In calibration experiments, both should be noted. The variations considered in fields.
