Emerging evidence indicates that osteoclasts direct osteoblastic bone formation. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have a crucial role in regulating osteoclast and osteoblast function. However, whether miRNAs mediate osteoclast-directed formation is mostly unknown. Here, we show increased osteoclastic miR-214-3p associates with both elevated serum exosomal reduced elderly women fractures ovariectomized (OVX) mice. Osteoclast-specific knock-in mice rescued by osteoclast-targeted antagomir-214-3p treatment....

Abstract Therapeutic antibodies that target T-cell co-inhibitory molecules display potent antitumor effects in multiple types of cancer. LSECtin is a cell surface lectin the DC-SIGN family expressed dendritic cells inhibits responses. limits activity infectious disease, but it has not been studied Here we report finding commonly melanomas where blunts tumor-specific When B16 melanoma cells, promoted tumor growth, whereas its blockade slowed growth either wild-type or LSECtin-deficient mice....

Herein, we, for the first time, report a high spin Co-Fe Prussian blue analogue (Co-Fe PBA) as highly efficient Fenton-like catalyst sulfate radical (SO4˙-) production. Our experiments and density functional theory (DFT) calculations show that largely elongated SO4-OH bond length, strengthened adsorption facilitated electron transfer peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation catalyzed by high-spin (HS) CoII are main factors contributing to its excellent activity.

Milk fat globule membrane (MFGM) proteins have many functions. To explore the different proteomics of human and bovine MFGM, MFGM were separated from colostrum mature milk, analyzed by iTRAQ proteomic approach. A total 411 recognized quantified. Among these, 232 kinds differentially expressed identified. These based on multivariate analysis, gene ontology (GO) annotation KEGG pathway. Biological processes involved response to stimulus, localization, establishment immune system process....

Abstract Corrosion resistance to high temperature concentrated alkali solutions (>20 wt.%) is very important for 316L austenitic stainless steel (316L SS). Herein, the effect of (130℃) on corrosion behavior and passive film composition SS in 50 wt.% NaOH solution was investigated by electrochemical methods, XPS, AES. The results indicated that films significantly affected temperature. When increased from 40°C 130°C, current density two orders magnitude, number defects were also increased....

Electrochemical methods have been widely used to monitor physiologically important molecules in biological systems. This report describes the first application of scanning electrochemical microscope (SECM) probe redox activity individual living cells. The possibilities measuring rate and investigating pathway transmembrane charge transfer are demonstrated. By this approach, significant differences detected responses given by nonmotile, nontransformed human breast epithelial cells, cells with...

Crystal gazing: A mild solution route has been designed for the controlled synthesis of lead tungstate microcrystals with high crystal symmetry, in which cationic surfactant, pH value, and temperature play key roles. Helix- (see TEM image), spindle-, chainlike, dendritic structures can be produced by varying reaction conditions.

Renal cell carcinomas (RCCs) with t(6;11)(p21;q12) are extremely rare and characterized by specific chromosome translocation, involving the transcription factor EB (TFEB). Fewer than 30 cases have been described in literature. We examined 7 additional of this tumor clinicopathologic, immunohistochemical, molecular, ultrastructural analyses. Four tumors had typical morphologic features TFEB RCCs, whereas 3 demonstrated uncommon features, mimicking epithelioid angiomyolipoma, chromophobe RCC,...
