Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) offer an opportunity to overcome multidrug resistance. Here, novel were designed based on AMP fragments derived from sea cucumber hemolytic lectin enhance anti-methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) activity with less side effects. Two peptides, CGS19 (LARVARRVIRFIRRAW-NH2) and CGS20 (RRRLARRLIFFIRRAW-NH2), exhibited strong antibacterial activities against clinically isolated MRSA MICs of 3–6 μM, but no obvious cytotoxicity was observed....

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) play critical roles in the pathogenesis of various diseases, including a variety tumors. Nevertheless, its functional and underlying molecular basis for their dysregulation lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) are largely unknown. Herein, our study, we identified that lncRNA TMPO-AS1 is significantly upregulated LUAD tissues cell lines. Knockdown remarkably suppressed growth, induced apoptosis as well G1/S arrest, inhibited invasion, whereas overexpression exerts opposite...

We report here detection of novel intracellular clathrin‐coated structures revealed by continuous high‐speed imaging cells expressing green fluorescent protein fusion proteins. These structures, which we operationally term ‘gyrating clathrin’ (G‐clathrin), are characterized localized but extremely rapid movement, leading to the hypothesis that they coated buds on waving membrane tubules. G‐clathrin have structurally and functionally distinct features. They lack detectable adaptor proteins...

We investigate the potential association of miR-149C>T and miR-499A>G polymorphisms risk hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). A matched case-control study 152 cases 304 controls were conducted. The genotypes analyzed using duplex polymerase chain reaction with restricted fragment length polymorphism. HCC patients more likely to be smokers drinkers, have hepatitis B C virus infections, a family history cancer. miR-149 CC genotype was associated reduced HCC, while miR-499 GG an increased HCC....

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are dysregulated in various malignancies and involved the growth aggressive phenotypes of cancer cells. Previous studies indicate that lncRNA testis development related 1 (TDRG1) plays critical roles several malignancies. Nevertheless, molecular mechanism underlying TDRG1 contributes to non-small cell lung (NSCLC) remains elusive. Here, we demonstrate is significantly overregulated NSCLC tissues lines. Knockdown inhibits proliferation metastatic-related traits...
