MicroRNAs (miRNAs) belong to a class of the endogenously expressed non-coding small RNAs which primarily function as gene regulators. Growing evidence suggests that miRNAs have significant role in tumor development and may constitute robust biomarkers for cancer diagnosis prognosis. The miR-17-92 cluster especially is markedly overexpressed several cancers, associated with progression. In this study, we demonstrated miR-92a highly hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). addition, proliferation...

ABSTRACT In Japan, more than 10% of streptococcal toxic shock-like syndrome (TSLS) cases have been caused by Streptococcus pyogenes M3/T3 isolates since the first reported TSLS case in 1992. Most from or severe invasive infection during 1992 to 2001 and those noninvasive this period are indistinguishable pulsed-field gel electropherograms. The longest fragments these recent were 300 kb size, whereas recovered before 1973 260 size. These 260- 300-kb hybridized each other, suggesting...
From November 2000 to July 2002, 112 fecal samples from pet reptiles, including 18 turtles, 71 lizards and 23 snakes, sold at a shop were examined for the prevalence of Salmonella spp. in Japan. isolated 83 (74.1%) samples, total isolates identified as subspecies I IV. The majority (62.5%) belonged 54 could be any 28 serovars. predominant serovars found S. Bardo, Newport Panama, which cause human salmonellosis. These results indicate that reptiles may potential infectious source salmonellosis
This study used ambulatory blood pressure (BP) monitoring to generate BP and heart rate (HR) profiles soon after stroke onset evaluated the association between determined values 3-month outcomes. We analyzed 24-hour records from 104 patients with acute ischemic stroke. Ambulatory was attached at second eighth hospitalization days (Days 1 7). Both HR were characterized using baseline, mean, maximum, minimum coefficient of variation during recording periods. Sapovirus (SaV) infections are a public health problem because they cause acute gastroenteritis in humans of all ages both as outbreaks and sporadic cases. However, publicly-available SaV sequence information, especially whole genome sequences for the genotypes, is still limited. Therefore, this study, we determined full/near-full-length genomic 138 SaVs from 2001-2015 seasons 13 prefectures across Japan. The GI genogroup was predominant (67%, n = 92), followed by GII (18%, 25), GIV (9%,...
Abstract To evaluate DNA fingerprinting as an epidemiologic tool, pulsed‐field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) was performed on isolates of Salmonella , including S. typhimurium, thompson and enteritidis . Chromosomal digested with the restriction endonucleases Bln I Xba I. The patterns typhimurium from various sources were different one another. There no correlation between phage type digestion pattern isolates. Some strains belonging to distinguished by their PFGE in this study. These results...

Treatment interruption and resumption are common among people with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D), but the triggers of resumption, according to reasons for interruption, remain underexplored. This study examined patterns treatment resumption. Narratives from 13 T2D patients a history were analysed through semi-structured interviews. Four identified: 1) "Economic rationality", where financial barriers caused interruptions, was facilitated by low-cost check-ups updated patient mindsets manage...
A facile method for the synthesis of 1- and 2-pyridylazulenes, 1,3-dipyridylazulenes, is described. Color spectral changes these pyridylazulenes upon addition either acid or metal ions were investigated in detail. The color changed from blue to red trifluoroacetic soft ions, depending on substitution patterns pyridyl group azulene skeleton. structures protonated coordinated products examined basis data. It was found that protonation coordination occurred nitrogen atom pyridine ring, but not...
Abstract A detailed investigation of the helical part resin‐supported peptide catalyst possessing a turn motif and unit was conducted to clarify structure‐activity relationship.
