Abstract Although case histories of depression preceding Parkinson's disease (PD) point to a possible pathophysiological relationship between these two disorders, there is as yet no epidemiological evidence support this view. We compared the incidence in patients later diagnosed with PD that matched control population. Using data from an ongoing general practice‐based register study, lifetime depressive disorder was calculated for until their diagnosis and population same register. At time...

Radiofrequency facet joint denervation procedures have been common practice for 2 decades in treatment of chronic low back pain. We designed this multicenter, randomized, double-blind, sham controlled trial to determine the efficacy radiofrequency denervation, as it is routinely performed.Inclusion criteria were pain, duration more than 6 months, and >or=50% Visual Analog Scale (VAS) reduction on diagnostic block. Exclusion prior treatment, radicular syndrome, coagulopathies, specific...

The aim of this study was to detect behavioral subsyndromes the 12-item Neuropsychiatric Inventory (NPI). Cross-sectional data 199 patients with dementia living in community were collected. Principal component analysis (with Varimax rotation) used for factor analysis. Results showed presence three subsyndromes: mood/apathy, psychosis, and hyperactivity. Anxiety regarded as a separate symptom. subsyndrome mood/apathy most common, occurring almost 80% patients, versus psychosis hyperactivity,...

Salivary response awakening were measured 57 55 noncaregiver comparison subjects. Caregivers showed significantly higher levels at the time morning than did subjects, with a smaller increase after awakening. A was found high versus low psychological symptoms (BPSD). Elevated could predispose negative health consequences, BPSD greater risk.

Walking time, intensity ratings, and heart rate were measured before after tests. From results previous studies it expected that, presence relatively solicitous spouse, would report more pain, have shorter walking exert themselves less physically. Delirium is a poor-prognosis neuropsychiatric disorder. Pediatric delirium (PD) remains understudied, particularly at pediatric intensive care units (PICU). Although the Anesthesia Emergence (PAED) scale, Rating Scale (DRS-88), and Scale-Revised (DRS-R-98) are available, none have been validated for use in PICU settings. The aim of present study was to investigate DRS/PAED instruments as diagnostic tools PD PICU.A prospective panel conducted, under circumstances routine clinical care,...
