Abstract Activated macrophages switch from oxidative phosphorylation to aerobic glycolysis, similar the Warburg effect, presenting a potential therapeutic target in inflammatory disease. The endogenous metabolite itaconate has been reported regulate macrophage function, but its precise mechanism is not clear. Here, we show that 4-octyl (4-OI, cell-permeable derivative) directly alkylates cysteine residue 22 on glycolytic enzyme GAPDH and decreases activity. Glycolytic flux analysis by U 13 C...

Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) are considered as a low‐cost complementary or alternative system to prestigious lithium‐ion (LIBs) because of their similar working principle LIBs, cost‐effectiveness, and sustainable availability sodium resources, especially in large‐scale energy storage systems (EESs). Among various cathode candidates for SIBs, Na‐based layered transition metal oxides have received extensive attention relatively large specific capacity, high operating potential, facile...

Glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) is a promising target to induce ferroptosis for the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). We designed and synthesized novel series covalent GPX4 inhibitors based on RSL3 ML162 by structural integration simplification strategies. Among them, compound C18 revealed remarkable inhibitory activity against TNBC cells significantly inhibited compared ML162. Moreover, it was identified that could notably with high selectivity increasing accumulation lipid...

Abstract As a typical tunnel oxide, Na 0.44 MnO 2 features excellent electrochemical performance and outstanding structural stability, making it promising cathode for sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs). However, suffers from undesirable challenges such as surface residual alkali, multiple voltage plateaus, low initial charge specific capacity. Herein, an internal external synergistic modulation strategy is adopted by replacing part of the Mn with Ti to optimize bulk phase construct Ti‐containing...

Abstract Mitochondria‐mediated apoptosis (MMA) is a preferential option for cancer therapy due to the presence of cell‐suicide factors in mitochondria, however, low permeability mitochondria bottleneck targeting drug delivery. In this paper, glycyrrhetinic acid (GA), natural product from Glycyrrhiza glabra , found be novel ligand, which can improve mitochondrial and enhance uptake mitochondria. GA‐functionalized graphene oxide (GO) prepared used as an effective carrier targeted delivery...

Leucine aminopeptidase (LAP) is a kind of proteolytic enzymes and associated closely with pathogenesis cancer liver injury. Accurate detection LAP activity high sensitivity selectivity imperative to detect its distribution dynamic changes for understanding LAP's function early diagnosing the disease states. However, fluorescent in living systems challenging. To date, rarely probes have been reported imaging vivo. In this study, novel probe (TMN-Leu) was developed by conjugating near-infrared...

It remains a tremendous challenge to achieve high-efficiency bifunctional electrocatalysts for both the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen (OER) production by water splitting. Herein, novel hybrid of 0D nickel nanoparticles dispersed on one-dimensional (1D) molybdenum carbide micropillars embedded in carbon layers (Ni/Mo2C@C) was successfully prepared foam facile pyrolysis strategy. During synthesis process, were simultaneously generated under H2 C2H2 mixed atmospheres conformally...

Formyl-phloroglucinol meroterpenoids (FPMs) are important types of natural products with various bioactivities. Our antifungal susceptibility assay showed that one the Eucalyptus robusta-derived FPMs, eucarobustol E (EE), exerted a strong inhibitory effect against Candida albicans biofilms at concentration 16 μg/ml. EE was found to block yeast-to-hypha transition and reduce cellular surface hydrophobicity biofilm cells. RNA sequencing real-time reverse transcription-PCR analysis exposure...

Aureochaeglobosins A-C (1-3), three novel [4 + 2] cycloaddition heterodimers of chaetoglobosin and aureonitol derivatives, were obtained from the culture endophytic fungus Chaetomium globosum, representing first adduct examples chaetoglobosins. Their structures elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analyses, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, a modified Mosher's method. Compounds 2 3 showed significant cytotoxicities against human MDA-MB-231 cancer cells with IC50 values 7.6 10.8 μM, respectively.
