BackgroundIn laboratory animals, exposure to most general anaesthetics leads neurotoxicity manifested by neuronal cell death and abnormal behaviour cognition. Some large human cohort studies have shown an association between anaesthesia at a young age subsequent neurodevelopmental deficits, but these are prone bias. Others found no evidence for association. We aimed establish whether in early infancy affects outcomes.MethodsIn this international, assessor-masked, equivalence, randomised,...

Assertive community treatment-based providing mobile outreach, such as Intensive Mobile Youth Outreach Services (IMYOS), operate across Australia to support these people's needs in the transition adulthood. Past research on IMYOS has focused quantitative outcome measures, experiences of this type model are poorly understood. This study explored youth...

These compared a group of normal controls, also tested on two occasions, who matched for age, sex, estimated premorbid IQ. At low weight, impairment was evident tests attentional-perceptual-motor functions visuospatial construction problem-solving. Learning less affected. Refeeding resulted in significant improvements performance.
