We performed four-terminal conductivity measurements on a CoSi2 nanowire (NW) at room temperature by using PtIr-coated carbon nanotube (CNT) tips in four-tip scanning tunneling microscope. The physical stability and high aspect ratio of the CNT made it possible to reduce probe spacing down ca. 30 nm. probe-spacing dependence resistance showed diffusive transport even nm no current leakage Si substrate.

The reaction of carbon dioxide (CO2) on Zn-deposited copper surfaces was systematically investigated by ambient-pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (AP-XPS). In the presence 0.8 mbar CO2 and 0.4 H2 gases, hydrogenation products are not observed; only carbonate is formed Cu(111) Cu(997) surfaces. formation rate at 299 K significantly faster Zn/Cu(997) than that Zn/Cu(111), indicating step sites more reactive for activation terrace sites. On other hand, addition water in feed gas leads...

Four-terminal conductivity measurements of damascene copper (Cu) wires with various widths have been performed using platinum-coated carbon nanotube (CNT) tips in a four-tip scanning tunneling microscope. Using CNT enabled the probe spacing to be reduced 70 nm, which is shortest interconnect wire achieved so far. The measured resistivity Cu increased as line width decreased and direct evidence individual grain boundary scattering was observed when varied on scale comparable size (∼200 nm).

We present a method to prepare tungsten tips for use in multi-tip scanning tunneling microscopes. The motivation behind the development comes from requirement make very long and conical-shape with controlling cone angle. is based on combination of "drop-off" dynamic electrochemical etching, which tip continuously slowly drawn up electrolyte during etching. Its reproducibility was confirmed by electron microscopy. Comparison shape between static methods shown. [DOI: 10.1380/ejssnt.2007.94]
