Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), including microRNAs (miRNAs), long ncRNAs (lncRNAs) and circular (circRNAs), accomplish remarkable variety of biological functions. However, the composition their interactions with coding in modulating controlling cellular process plants is largely unknown. Using a diverse group high-throughput sequencing strategies, mRNA, miRNA, lncRNA circRNA compositions tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) roots determined alteration potential functions response to topping treatment...
Neural stem cells (NSCs) are self-renewing, pluripotent, and undifferentiated which have benefits as candidates for central nervous system (CNS) injury. However, the transplanted NSCs usually maintain their characteristics, or differentiated potentially along glial lineage after transplantation. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) small, non-coding RNAs that play key roles in cell differentiation. it is unknown whether miR-29a could a role process of NSC's Primary were derived from rat embryonic cortex....
Extracellular microRNAs (miRNAs) have been proposed to function in cross-kingdom gene regulation. Among these, plant-derived miRNAs of dietary origin reported survive the harsh conditions human digestive system, enter circulatory and regulate expression metabolic function. However, definitive evidence supporting presence mammals has difficult obtain due limited sample sizes. We developed a bioinformatics pipeline (ePmiRNA_finder) that provides strident miRNA classification applied it analyze...
Post-translational modification of proteins by Ubiquitin (Ub) and Ubiquitin-like (Ubls) can be reversed deconjugating enzymes, which have been implicated in different pathways associated with various human diseases. To understand the activity dynamics multiple synthetic semi-synthetic Ub/Ubl probes developed, some them applied to screen inhibitors enzymes. Since these are generally not cell-permeable, strategies developed deliver live cells. However, till now, no expressed cells directly...
Identifying direct substrates of enzymes has been a long-term challenge. Here, we present strategy using live cell chemical cross-linking and mass spectrometry to identify the putative for further biochemical validation. Compared with other methods, our is based on identification cross-linked peptides supported by high-quality MS/MS spectra, which eliminates false-positive discoveries indirect binders. Additionally, sites allow analysis interaction interfaces, providing information substrate...
Abstract Exposure to cigarette smoke (CS) results in injury the epithelial cells of human respiratory tract and has been implicated as a causative factor development chronic obstructive pulmonary disease lung cancers. The application omics-scale methodologies improved capacity understand cellular signaling processes underlying response CS exposure. We report here an algorithm based on quantitative assessment transcriptomic profiles pathway perturbation analysis (SPPA) bronchial (HBEC)...
A case of Gilbert syndrome (GS) with a heterozygous mutation in the UGT1A1 gene is reported. The patient had no symptoms except for recurrent sclera icterus since childhood. Laboratory examinations revealed an elevated unconjugated bilirubin. Biliary obstruction, hemolysis and other diseases that might cause jaundice were excluded. UGT1A1*28 c.211G>A mutations found, which may be another type causing GS Chinese population.
Abstract Plant-derived microRNAs (miRNAs) have been implicated as functional regulators in human diseases, although conclusive evidence of this effect remains to be reported. To examine their potential role, we profiled the plant-derived miRNAs 139 blood exosome samples from renal transplantation patients and were able identify 331 representing 149 families. According miRBase annotation, these can traced back 76 plant species, most which are foods common diet (e.g., tomato, soybean, potato...
