Wearable finger-based haptics with cutaneous feedback is promising, as it allows us to duplicate many real-world rich/important tasks that are relying on the dexterity of fingers and hands in virtual-world. For this system, one key challenges finger-tracking, which can course never be perfect, yet, if used VR (e.g., HMD), would still adequate long its tracking error under a certain detection threshold. In paper, for such wearable HMD, via some suitably-designed human subject studies, we aim...

In this paper, we explore possible utility of pseudo-haptics for the cutaneous fingertip haptic device, whose performance is inherently limited due to lack kinesthetic feedback. We experimentally demonstrate that: 1) can render virtual stiffness be more rigid or softer only by modulating visual cue; 2) used expand range perceived stiffness; and 3) confusing, if cues are contradictory that contradiction too large overridden perception dominance.

Developing national-level policies related to climate change induced expansions of invasive species requires predictive modelling at a regional scale level. This study aimed predict future changes in the habitat distributions two major alien fish species, Micropterus salmoides and Lepomis macrochirus, South Korea. An ensemble system with multiple distribution models was used for prediction, gridded water portion data from linear-structure information on river channels inputted as...

We propose a novel whole-body multi-modal semiautonomous teleoperation framework for mobile manipulator systems, which consists of: 1) Motion capture and motion mapping to allow the operator intuitively teleoperate without being constrained by master interface while also fully exploiting dexterity; 2) Slave robot autonomous control optimally track operator's command, taking into account user-slave kinematic dissimilarity (slave robot's joint limit, velocity singularity); 3)...

How does future anxiety caused by the COVID-19 pandemic relate to people’s willingness remain vigilant and adhere preventive measures? We examined mediating role of message fatigue moderating autonomy satisfaction in relationship between due vigilant. A cross-sectional online survey was conducted with adults residing United States June 2021 when numerous U.S. states re-opened following CDC’s relaxed guidelines for fully vaccinated individuals. Our data showed that mediated The further...

Gibberella zeae (anamorph: Fusarium graminearum) is an important pathogen of cereal crops in many areas the world. Infected grain with this fungus often contaminated mycotoxins. Phylogenetic trees G. isolates from maize and rice were constructed by using amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP). AFLP showed polymorphic bands bands, haplotypic loci, used to analyze genetic diversity population. Population structure consisted four lineages. Lineage 7 was major group followed lineage 3, 6,...

With the recent advancements of HMD (head mounted display) and sensing technology (e.g., RGB-D camera sensor fusion for localization), immersive VR (virtual reality) interaction, where users interact with virtual environment using their bodies head motion hand grasping), has received great attention. To enhance realism this haptic feedback is desired. Conventional kinesthetic devices Force Dimension Omega 3®, etc.) are not so suitable purpose, due to mechanical ground requirement bulky size...

Measurements of phosphatase activity in peatlands are made difficult by the low levels and characteristically high concentrations dissolved organic matter within sediments. These materials may cause background absorbances colorimetric assays, quenching interference fluorimetric assays. This review describes development a new approach which allows such problems to be overcome using HPLC separate interferences from products enzymic hydrolysis. is applicable various environmental samples as...

This study aimed to investigate the characteristics, differences, and relationships between grip strength maximum oxygen intake by age group, targeting men women aged from 10 60. The involved 13,679 subjects. Participants underwent measurements for height, weight, body fat percentage, mass index (BMI), strength, uptake (VOSUB2max/SUB). When analyzing correlation VOSUB2max/SUB in Korean men, there was no observed 10s 20s groups, an inverse found 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s groups. Overall, showed a...
