Arterial spin labeling and phase contrast magnetic resonance imaging provide independent non-invasive methods for measuring cerebral blood flow. We compared global flow measurements obtained using pseudo-continuous arterial in 436 middle-aged subjects acquired at two sites the NHLBI CARDIA multisite study. Cerebral measured by (CBF PC : 55.76 ± 12.05 ml/100 g/min) was systematically higher ( p < 0.001) more variable than PCASL 47.70 9.75). The correlation between values from modalities...

Patients with multiple sclerosis routinely have MR imaging contrast every 6-12 months to assess response medication. Multiple recent studies provide evidence of tissue deposition agents, questioning the long-term safety these agents. The goal this retrospective image-analysis study was determine whether could be reserved for only those patients who show new MS lesions on follow-up examinations. We retrospectively reviewed brain MRIs 138 patients. To increase our sensitivity, we used a...

SUMMARY:
Transcranial focused ultrasound (FUS) is a versatile, MR-guided, incisionless intervention with diagnostic and therapeutic applications for neurologic psychiatric diseases. It currently FDA-approved as thermoablative treatment of essential tremor Parkinson disease. However, other FUS including BBB opening applications, sonodynamic therapy, histotripsy, low-intensity neuromodulation are all in clinical trials. While targeting disease has classically relied on an indirect,...

This is a case report of an adult with chronic subdural hematoma (cSDH) who underwent endovascular treatment for middle meningeal artery (MMA) embolization. There was prominent meningo-ophthalmic branch absence ophthalmic from the internal carotid artery. MMA embolization performed utilizing particles no complications and resolution cSDH within 4 months. demonstrates that despite extreme variant anatomy, feasible, effective, safe when appropriate techniques are used.

Background Intracranial dural arteriovenous (AV) fistula classifications focus on presence/absence of retrograde flow in the cortical veins brain as this angiographic finding portends a worse prognosis. However, prior categorization systems AV shunts spine do not incorporate these features. We propose an updated classification for spinal shunting lesions that terms any lesion with vein or cord medullary “high risk”. To present classification, we analyzed our center’s most recent experience...

Abstract Background Although not standard of care, Cystic Fibrosis patients with recurrent hemoptysis occasionally have coil embolization bronchial arteries. In the event recanalization these arteries in this specific subset patients, presence indwelling coils makes prospect conventional particle more difficult, preventing both adequate catheterization coiled segment and reflux particles. Case presentation report, we describe a case artery complex patient massive from recanalized utilizing...

Imaging and autopsy studies show intracranial gadolinium deposition in patients who have undergone serial contrast-enhanced MRIs. This observation has raised concerns when using contrast administration receive frequent To address this, we implemented a contrast-conditional protocol wherein is administered only for multiple sclerosis (MS) with imaging evidence of new disease activity on precontrast imaging. In this study, explore the economic impact our MRI protocol. We compared scanner time...
