Early processing of visual information takes place in the human retina. Mimicking neurobiological structures and functionalities retina provides a promising pathway to achieving vision sensor with highly efficient image processing. Here, we demonstrate prototype that operates via gate-tunable positive negative photoresponses van der Waals (vdW) vertical heterostructures. The emulates not only bipolar cells photoreceptors but also unique connectivity between photoreceptors. By tuning gate...

The production of functionalized anilines by chemoselective hydrogenation nitroarenes occupies an important position in the chemical industries. Recently, cobalt and nitrogen codoped carbon (Co–N–C) catalysts have been reported to show outstanding catalytic performance this process, whereas nature their active sites is still at center intense debate. In paper, based on well-controlled experiments four types typical Co–N–C materials derived from different methodologies, several unusual...

Abstract Compared to human vision, conventional machine vision composed of an image sensor and processor suffers from high latency large power consumption due physically separated sensing processing. A neuromorphic system with brain-inspired visual perception provides a promising solution the problem. Here we propose demonstrate prototype by networking retinomorphic memristive crossbar. We fabricate using WSe2/h-BN/Al2O3 van der Waals heterostructures gate-tunable photoresponses, closely...

Abstract The AlO x -based resistive switching memory device is fabricated by an oxidation diffusion process that involves depositing Al film on ITO substrate and annealing at 400 °C in a vacuum. An interface layer with thickness of ~ 20 nm formed as resistance layer. Bipolar unipolar (RS) behaviours are obtained when the compliance current limited (≥ 1 mA). In RS behaviour, devices fail to perform set/reset cycles low temperature (40 K), which suggests Joule heating essential for behaviour....

A new couple of enantiomeric chiral cyclometalated platinum(II) complexes Pt(La)(CC–Ph) (1a) and Pt(Lb)(CC–Ph) (1b) (La = (−)-4,5-pinene-6′-phenyl-2,2′-bipyridine, Lb (+)-4,5-pinene-6′-phenyl-2,2′-bipyridine) have been designed synthesized. These were found to undergo crystal transformation upon exposure dichloromethane vapor, resulting in slight changes vapochromism/vapoluminescence but very distinct chiroptical switching behaviour. Memristors with tunable conductance characteristics have attracted great attention in high density memory and neuromorphic computing. However, the dynamics of change for filamentary-type memristors is generally asymmetric: The set transition quite abrupt, while reset usually gradual, which a big challenge to achieve continuous tuning both processes. In this work, we demonstrated an HfO2/TiOx (10 nm/10 nm) bilayer structure memristor feature bidirectional (a gradual increase or decrease...
